Did they get rid of the spinning mechanism on the centerpiece of the WWE belt ? I notice for a while now that when someone holds up the belt the centerpiece doesn't move at all. I noticed when Edge had in the belt in 2006, just by picking up the belt, putting it on his shoulder, or raising it in the air the centerpiece you move around. Now, the centerpiece looks like it is locked in one place.

Yeah, I don't think it spins anymore.
When Randy Orton was awarded the title at No Mercy in 2007, after Cena went down with the injury, it appeared to have stopped spinning.

I know that the belt was expensive... but it has no place on anyone other than Cena... it would be like keeping the Smoking Austin belt...

it tilts, but it doesn't really spin
With Jeff Hardy though I'd expect him to spin it to go along with his drugged out raver gimmick
Does it still say Mon-nite? I thought it said smackdown with the fist, well it does in the pre-match graphic

I haven't seen it spin, but I have seen the center piece move slighty, so maybe it has been disabled somehow

yeah it doesn't spin it sorta moves, but not spins
I thought they gave Hardy the original Smackdown version of the title with the fist on it as opposed to the RAw version

WWE is getting as lazy as TNA with Kurt Angle and the TNA WHC side logo falling off

I just wish they would bring back the undisputed Belt.
That thing was beautiful.

The Undisputed Belt was like here and gone in no time. Who held it? Rock, 'Taker, Lesnar, JBL, and Eddie? Then Cena wins it and "F's" it all up. The Undisputed Title looked cool and classic. If Cena doesn't have it (even if he does now, he's not "street" anymore) they need to bring back the old one or a new neutral one. I wish 'Taker would win it, bring back the UnderBiker and cut a promo saying, "I'm not carrying this piece of s**t!" And introduce something new.

So they can afford to erase Benoit from history, but they can't change the side plate to read the brand it's defended on?

I'm picturing something mystical here, like Odysseus's dog reaching its final rest when its master returns home after so many years passed. I think the reason they don't change it, other than cost, is it still sells tons of replica belts.
