He was in the Corporation so I feel like he should have been the guy VInce should have gone for a Corporate Champ. He was less charismatic than alot of the options but that would be kind of the point. VInce chooses a champ who's the plainest of a group that consists of Austin, Rock, Undertaker, Mankind, Kane and Triple H because he's the one he can control best and even over shadow.
It's be like "Vince McMahon presents the WWF champion, Ken Shamrock!"

I think he could of been a transition champion, like Orton was.

I was never really a fan of Ken, the IC title was fine but I don't think anything above it

Yup. Shamrock was awesome. One of the best WWE talents that should have at least received more of a main event run (Mr. Perfect, Razor Ramon, and Bam Bam also all fall into this category), if not the belt outright.

The problem with Shamrock was that he started off so hot, there was almost nowhere to go but down. Unlike most wrestlers who come in and steadily work their way up the card, he was immediately cast as a UFC badass who could hang with Vader, Bret, Austin, Michaels, etc. When he failed to beat Bret and HBK for the WWF title and then also wasn't able to take the IC belt from the Rock (largely due to his own temper and stupidity), he lost a lot of that badass aura.
He won KOTR, and they finally did give him the IC belt, but look at his singles feuds after KOTR: Owen Hart, Billy Gunn, Val Venis, Steve Blackman. He worked brief programs with Mankind and Undertaker, but he didn't get a dominating win in either one. He'd clearly been stamped "midcard" by then.

I thought he was actually very charasmatic. When he snapped you really believed he SNAPPED. I don't think he would of made a good world champ though. He was good in the ring and all but he didn't exactly stay in WWF long enough. If was still in WWE I'd say yeah but since he left after only a few years I say no.

Shamrock was a badass....it would've been nice to see him as the World Heavyweight Champ.

Great deal of potential, great look, and great character, unfortunately, like someone said earlier, when he first came in, he was a blazing inferno that had nowhere else to go but cool down. IC title definitely was the highest I see him going with WWF.

He should have been wrestling for a year or two longer and then become champion.

Shamrock was a little pissed about the "Montreal Screwjob", because one of the main reasons he joined the WWF was because he was eventually going to get a pinfall victory over Bret.
I don't see why a Ken Shamrock transitional reign couldn't have been penciled in around that time. He could have lost it to Shawn and there would be no real shame in that.
Even Jim Ross admits that they dropped the ball with Ken Shamrock's initial push.

I'd have preferred him as champion over Austin and Rock.

It seems bizarre Shamrock be pissed as to what had happened at SS,
I mean, the owner of the entire company and possibly the most powerful man in North American wrestling, had just screwed the wrestler who was perhaps the greatest of his time out of the top title the United States, forcing him into the grasp of the competition, and someone like Ken gets pissed because he was promised a pinfall win against him lol, I find that strange.

I'd have preferred him as champion over Austin and Rock. You're about the only one.

I liked Shamrock. He and Rock were the only members of the Corporation that I didn't hate. However, I don't think he needed the belt because he was already over as a badass anyways. The only way I could see him working as a champion is if the WWF was more like All Japan or New Japan where it was harder to tell whether the whole thing was a legit competition. When I was younger, I always wondered why the WWF didn't move towards that style.

I remember when he joined The Union and came to the ring when Vince and Shane were in it. He went after Vince, who pushed Shane towards Shamrock, and Ken belly-to-belly suplexed the s**t out of Shane. Just a sick looking hit. I would have liked to see Shamrock and Angle go at it.
