Rorschach I don't see how Rorschach is easy to hate. Well its like Alan Moore has said... And i'm dumbing down Moore's words with my paraphrase. Rorschach was a loser character. He had no girlfriend, lived in a dive apartment and didn't shower. Moore intended him to be a repulsive character forgetting that not having a girlfriend, smelling bad, etc... made him a relateable figure for comic book fans. You can find a youtube interview with Moore on this... he does a great re-enactment of how comic book fans, not knowing how he intended Rorschach to be read, would tell him how much they had in common with Rorschach expecting him to be impressed. Moore does concede the character has a tremendous, if irrational sense of integrity that makes him the hero of Watchmen.

Tough vote, on one hand it would be awesome to see Rorschach going up to a bunch of villians and doing his routine and hiding in refridgerators, but I just like the Pool guy more.

There's really not a 'likable' character in Watchmen.. maybe Nite Owl, but even he's kinda a loser--though he gets confidence at the end.
Still Ozymandias is my favorite guy, and he's the main villain..

For some reason, I find it funny that Alan Moore forgot who he was writing too.

It is precisely this "irrational sense of integrity" (in addition to his hygiene, violent streak, and, to a lesser degree, his politics) that makes me dislike Rorschach at times. Oh, wow, he'd doom to world to a nuclear holocaust because he can't swallow his pride and I'm supposed to, what, respect him for that? Don't think so.

I like Rorschach just cause he is badass and creative as hell. I mean come on, the guy held off a SWAT team with a hand full of ground black pepper, an aerosal can + lit match combo, and his grappling gun.
Plus, the whole hide his coat in Moloch's fridge with a note that read "Behind You" was awesome.
He's a sick, twisted loser that for all intents and purposes should be hated, but he is what Question(one of my favorite superheroes....I love detective heroes the most for some reason, probably because they tend to use their mind over their muscle) would be if he didn't care for the rules.

Oh, wow, he'd doom to world to a nuclear holocaust because he can't swallow his pride and I'm supposed to, what, respect him for that? Don't think so. Yeah. Its one of the reasons I love Watchmen so much. It does tie you up in your own ethics. I like Rorschach just cause he is badass and creative as hell. I mean come on, the guy held off a SWAT team with a hand full of ground black pepper, an aerosal can + lit match combo, and his grappling gun. Well Rorschach is as much the Steve Ditko character, MR A as he is The Question. If you can track down the MR A stories, they're genius (much like most Ditko stuff... yes even Squirrel Girl!). In the British documentary "SEARCHING FOR STEVE DITKO" (Worth seeing for Alan Moore's contributions and Stan Lee being made to look like a jerk) Moore says someone asked Ditko what he thought of Rorschach and Ditko replied "Oh He's just like MR A, only he's insane" Of course to appreciate Mr A, you do need quite a background of reading Ayn Rand (don't necessarily have to agree with her)... Which also helps in understanding Rorschach's behaviour.

^ Yeah I saw that programme. Was a good insight into the world of Steve Ditko even if the man himself remains elusive and will never give an interview.
