Round 19 and could we have a huge name as a challenger?
In the event of a tie both will carry on to the next day to meet some other challenger. I will try and vary the sources from comics to TV show characters.
I'm also going to add a bit of story to this to make it interesting, it's still a favorite poll but it's going to have continuity!
I will happily take requests for future opponents. But in the meantime we have to continue the story ...
--------------------------------------
Last time rorschach leaped through a window to interrogate Stilt-Man.
Rorschach: Tell me why you are prowling around outside The comedian's apartment. Tell me!
Stilt-Man: Look I was just going home with groceries, I haven't done naything., see.
*He holds up a brown bag which is indeed full of groceries, as he holds it the bag splits no doubt damaged in the confrontation. Stilt-Man can only watch as his food falls 4 storeys to the ground. rorschach leaps onto a nearby roof and walks away.*
Stilt-Man: Why me.
*On the rooftop rorschach puzzles over the facts, unaware he is being watched as he truns a chimney a bladed throwing star embeds itself in the brick work. He turns and aims his grappling hook.*
Man: Good, I wanted your attention. If you seek the truth then you seek the purple robber.
Rorschach: Show yourself!
*A man walks out dressed in black, a utility belt across his waste. A hooded cowl preventing his face from being seen.*
Rorschach: Speak
Batman: No words necessary, merelytrust is needed. If you wish to know more follow me.
Should Rorschach trust this Batman?
Rorschach
Rorschach was created by Watchmen writer Alan Moore with artist Dave Gibbons but, as with most of the central characters in the series, he was an analog for a Charlton Comics character, in this case The Question. Moore has said that the character's real name, Walter Kovacs, was inspired by Ditko's tendency to give his characters names beginning with the letter K. In an interview for the BBC's Comics Britannia, Moore stated that Rorschach was created as a way of exploring how an archetypical Batman-type character—-a driven, vengeance-fueled, vigilante—-would be like in the real world. He concluded that the short answer was "a nutcase". Wearing the mask that displays a constantly morphing inkblot, which he considers his "true face", Rorschach has continued his one-man battle against crime long after superheroes have become both detested and illegal. Rorschach’s actions and journal writings display a belief in moral absolutism and moral objectivism, where good and evil are clearly defined and evil must be violently punished. He has alienated himself from the rest of society to achieve these aims. Politically, he is an anti-communist, anti-liberal, and strong nationalist. Rorschach is described by Alan Moore as an extremely right-wing character. Rorschach uses any and all weapons that are available at the time, such as pepper to blind a police officer and the use of hairspray in combination with a match to set fire to another police officer, as well as Moloch's house. He owns a gas-powered grappling gun, which he uses to climb buildings. Rorschach is well versed in street combat, and traditional boxing. In the course of the limited series he demonstrated the ability to best multiple armed assailants with little difficulty. Rorschach demonstrated that he was relatively indifferent to physical pain and discomfort. Due to his time in juvenile detention facilities and group homes as a child he is as street savvy as any criminal. Rorschach also demonstrated the ability to break into a variety of locked buildings and homes, suggesting the expertise of a master thief. Rorschach has been described as "tactically brilliant, and unpredictable" by Nite Owl.
vs
Batman (Azrael)
Jean-Paul Valley, better known as Azrael, is a vigilante who formerly operated out of Gotham City. Most of his extraordinary abilities come from severe amounts of subconscious training and conditioning he was put through during his youth, unaware that he was being controlled by a 500-year old devout religious sect called the Order of St. Dumas. Named after the Angel of Death, Jean-Paul Valley is actually descended from a long line of crimefighters using the Azrael suit and name. Although in his initial appearances, his psychological conditioning led him to become an often remorseless killer in the name of vengeance, lengthy time spent with the Batman Family led him to distance himself from the extremist views of his ingrained teachings and to a more responsible and humane approach to Justice. As Azrael, his main nemesis was Carleton LeHah, an evil man of wealth who believed himself to be serving the demon Biis, the Order of St. Dumas' sworn enemy. Valley served for awhile as the second Batman when Bruce Wayne's spine was crippled, although he would later be forced to relinquish the role. His career ended when he was apparently killed being shot and falling off of a balcony at the hands of LeHah. Over five years later, a version of Azrael who appears to be Jean-Paul Valley has returned to Gotham City, once more in Batman's absence. He is wearing the Suit of Sorrows, originally given to Batman by Talia al Ghul, but discarded when he believed although it augmented him, it made him too dangerous and unlocked his inner evils.
