Round 22 (and I no longer have to spell that watchmens name anymore yay!)...
In the event of a tie both will carry on to the next day to meet some other challenger. I will try and vary the sources from comics to TV show characters.
I'm also going to add a bit of story to this to make it interesting, it's still a favorite poll but it's going to have continuity!
I will happily take requests for future opponents. But in the meantime we have to continue the story ...
--------------------------------------
*Previously Rorschach met Gambit in a bar, at a game of cards*
*Two weeks later we find Gambit at the X-Mansion*

*He walks in and meets Beast who is reading a book in an armchair. Gambit hands a grappling hook gun to Beast. Beats looks up as he holds the weapon in his hand.*
Beast: "Where did you get this?"
Gambit: "Card game, mon ami. Guy didn't know when to quit."
*A huge explosion rocks the house as the main doors blow open and knock Beast away. Gambit turns to face this intrusion, charged card in hand.*
Gambit: "Who would attack the X-mansion, show yourself."
*From the outside a creature on all fours growls with menace, and then leaps teeth bared claws ready.*
*Will Gambit survive and destroy this predator?*
Gambit

A mutant, Gambit possesses the ability to manipulate kinetic energy. This is manifest both internally and externally, energy charges his body giving him greater strength, stamina, and agility than any non-powered human, As well as being able to charge matter resulting in the violent and disproportionately powerful explosion of said matter through touch. The object he charges explode with a force somewhat proportional to the size of the object, though a playing card is as powerful as a hand grenade in Gambit's hands. Gambit has the ability to charge living as well is non living matter, though this ability is the source of much controversy in Gambit's life as well as the continuity and nature of the character. He almost never charges organic matter. He is also skilled in card throwing, hand-to-hand combat, and the use of a staff. A professional thief, few X-Men trusted Gambit when he first joined the group, a source of stress between him and his longtime on-again, off-again love interest Rogue. This was exacerbated when his connections to villain Mister Sinister were revealed, although some of his team members accept that Gambit honestly seeks redemption. As the X-Men's self-described ladies man, Gambit has shown a more vulnerable side of himself over the years, especially when it comes to Rogue. Gambit remains fiercely proud of his Louisiana heritage, and speaks in a very thick, Cajun accent. One of his defining traits is that he used to be a smoker, along with Wolverine.
vs
Predator X
![](http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e99/Jokerspack/Supervillains/Predatorx.jpg)
A malicious unrelenting mutant monster mainly featured in the Messiah complex story. Before he died William Stryker had requested a living weapon, a huge beast called the "Predator X". Created by the scientists of the Facility and having absorbed some of Mercury's bio-metal skin, Predator X is highly resistant to physical damage, being able to draw in materials from the surrounding environment to help reform itself. The beast also possesses superhuman strength and endurance, as well as the ability to track mutants by their genetic signature alone. Predator X is essentially tireless, able to track and pursue prey without pause for great distances and lengths of time, eventually wearing the target down before going for the kill. It could also project a toxic acidic saliva and was reported to run at speeds of 100 km/h for nineteen hours without slowing down. This, combined with its regenerative abilities, means that the creature can hunt down even a determined and powerful mutant and come out victorious. The Predator's insides are not as durable as its skin; Wolverine killed it by ripping it apart from the inside out. Before it was stopped it killed and ate Mammomax, Blockbuster, Peepers, Vertigo, an unnamed fire breathing mutant and an unnamed rodent mutant. It also ripped Bishops arm off and ate several buried mutants in the grounds of the X-Mansion.
