Probably a long shot, but I really, really hope Livan makes the Mets. ;D
And the Nats might have 3 or 4 outfielders better than any one of the Braves... I'm left hoping for someone fairly pedestrian, like Garret Anderson, to be signed.

Javy reminds me of the degeneration of James Baldwin. Word in the booth was Baldwin was only good for 3 innings; they never said they were the 1st, 2nd and 4th. Man would be lights out, 6 Ks and no runners reached. There was just something about that rotten 3rd inning where he'd give up 6 runs on 9 hits and 3 walks that kinda soured us White Sox fans on him.

I didn't even know he was still in the league. And I read something on MLB.com last night about Tim Linecum having to deal with the Giants new expectations. But what I dont get is, why are they even considered to win the West? They've only added Randy "I pitch 6 games a year if you're lucky" Johnson and Edgar "Nobody wants me" Renteria. How is that a big enough improvement to warrant them being "favorites"? But they signed Juan Uribe and are looking at adding Joe Crede. How can you go wrong with former White Sox players wearing World Series rings? Now, if the Cubs did the same thing (team can't win a ring, so they buy up guys who own a couple), they'd be talking dynasty. Juan Uribe huh? Yeeeeaaaaah, he's the missing peice of that puzzle. And Joe Crede couldn't stay healthy in a hospital.

Apparently the Braves are making a run at Griffey.
I'll admit, it would be kinda cool. Used to be annual "Griffey to Atlanta" rumors. But at this point in his career, I could take him or leave him... and really he should probably finish things up in Seattle anyway.

NL is not a place for him this point in his career.

Sounds like Griffey to Atlanta might really happen, per the Braves main beat writer. Says Atlanta's his first choice, wants to be close to his Orlando home and play for Bobby Cox. Predicts something could get done early next week.

A Diaz/Griffey platoon in left is actually a really good offensive prospect.

So, where does his family live?

A Diaz/Griffey platoon in left is actually a really good offensive prospect. Yep. Griffey can still hit righties and Diaz kills lefties. I like it a lot actually. I beleive out of the both of them we'll get about a .270 AVG, 20 HRs and 100 RBIs. That is to say, their stats combined.

MLB.com has a story about Albert Pujols wanting to stay a Cardinal for the rest of his career. I think it'd be cool if he does end up doing it. It's super rare anymore for a guy to stay with one team his entire career.

Only a little under two months until the Cubs begin their march to depress me again.

Only a little under two months until the Cubs begin their march to depress me again. It's alright, I feel your pain. But life wouldn't be the same without the Cubs breakin' our hearts.

Albert Pujols indicated that he won't be ready to commit to the Cardinals beyond 2011 until he sees what direction they're going in for the future.
