Brewers signed RHP Braden Looper, who had been with the Cardinals, to a one-year, $5.5 million contract with a mutual option for 2010.

Do the random players in 2K have ridiculous names like in The Show? I remember in MVP 2005, Kevin Millar was a black man named Anthony Friese. I think Bonds was replaced by a white man named Jon Dowd. It's simultaneously annoying and hilarious. That's a lot of names that need to be changed. I'll just wait for the modding community for the PC version to create a more accurate roster. Ugh that damn Jon Dowd. He killed me in my Padres franchise And I believe this is Kevin Millar in 2K9 www.operationsports.com/mediaview.php?id=547

"Batter up! Let's go! We're taking the afternoon off!"
"It's a beautiful day for a ball game! For a ball-game to-day!"
My sign of spring has sprung! Many teams' pitchers and catchers are reporting today!

The signing of Dunn gives them SIX outfielders. Last I read, Adam Dunn is moving to first, Nick Johnson is probably going to be dealt, Ronnie Belliard (remember him, Moe? Awesome guy. Very nice. Remembered me as "that missile guy") will take second (instead of dealing for Hudson), all because they couldn't land Texiara like they originally wanted. But they also have that prospect 1B kid coming up that it kinda defies the logic of that if they have so many outfielders and 1B-men.

The Yankees have signed Brett Tomko. Will he make the starting rotation out of camp?
NO.

The Yankees have signed Brett Tomko. Will he make the starting rotation out of camp? NO. I didn't even know he was still in the league. And I read something on MLB.com last night about Tim Linecum having to deal with the Giants new expectations. But what I dont get is, why are they even considered to win the West? They've only added Randy "I pitch 6 games a year if you're lucky" Johnson and Edgar "Nobody wants me" Renteria. How is that a big enough improvement to warrant them being "favorites"?

But they signed Juan Uribe and are looking at adding Joe Crede. How can you go wrong with former White Sox players wearing World Series rings? Now, if the Cubs did the same thing (team can't win a ring, so they buy up guys who own a couple), they'd be talking dynasty.

Having Adam Dunn and Orlando Hudson does nothing for your super crappy starting 5 and worthless bullpen. Maybe Bowden thinks MLB will let the Nats have 2 extra outfielders. That can be the only explanation for them having about 7 of them on the roster. It'll surely help out their crappy pitching staff. Josh Willingham - Left Field Wily Mo Pena - Left Center Field Lastings Milledge - Center Field Elijah Dukes - Right Center Field Adam Dunn - Right Field That still leaves Austin Kearns without a OF spot.
