I just bought Cubs-Cardinals tickets for April 16th. I'm super excited. Just thought I'd share.

Rumors from Dopey Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribune say that Seattle has contacted the Cubs about a your crap-for-our garbage trade of Kosuke Fukudome for Kenji Johjima and Erik Bedard or Jarrod Washburn.
Hendry is wary of giving up a solid defensive outfielder for Johjima, who would be no better than an expensive second string catcher.

Fukudome for Bedard and Johjima sounds like a deal made in heaven. Bedard and Johjima are better then what last year indicates and Fukudome/Ichiro/Griffey OF would be a nice gate attraction for a team with no chance.

But the Cubs already have a power arm who wants to throw his five innings, take a shower, and get a paycheck. His name's Rich Harden. And they also have Geo Soto behind the plate. Fukudome is a much better option for the Cubs than the Mariner pu pu platter.

SI.com's Jon Heyman says the Twins and Joe Crede are closer to agreeing to terms. A Twins source told ESPN's website that the deal is done, but financial terms are "unavailable". I bet it's nowhere close to the $5M/1-year deal the White Sox offered before "Joe" (aka: Boras) opted for free agency. You're not going to give that kind of scratch to a guy with back issues; when your back starts giving out, you're a part-time player. That said, I like Joe, and I think he'll make a fine addition to a pain-in-the-ass Twins team that is never out of the race for the AL Central.

(surprise surprise) Yeah. Anna used the newspapers here to pretty much insult the entire Met clubhouse... Then we got John Maine for him. Thanks Anna! ;D
