So many other tournaments going on...why not have one more...
I've been thinking of trying to host my own WC tournament to determine the all-time best American horror villain. Freddy, Jason, Dracula, whoever... I think someone tried this before, but I don't remember. I didn't follow it (therefore, it doesn't exist, right?
j/k).
I'll lay out the ground rules at I had in mind...
1) Keep it American, mainly because I don't want to sift through the endless Japanese kaiju hordes
2) Bit of an offshoot of Rule 1, but I want to exclude the America Godzilla, if for no other reason than because he's based on a Japanese kaiju -- however, King Kong is allowed
3) Let's stick with the more well-known monsters. They don't have to be the "megastars," but let's not bother with something like Cobra or Python or Komodo from the Sci Fi Channel, or something that'd be featured on MST3K
4) I'll try to set up a bracket system. The first round will be random, but from there, it will follow a series of matchups up to the final winner. (I've never done this, so bear with me guys!)
5) This tournament will run Monday through Friday (I'll figure out times if enough people are interested). I'm not online enough on weekends to keep up with this.
6) I, as the host, reserve the right to have final say who's in and who's not.

Creature from the Black Lagoon
The Mummy
The Invisible Man
Freddy Krueger
Jason Voorhees

Michael Myers

If enough people are interested, and we can compile a big enough list of monsters, I'll try to put this thing together. Feel free to make any suggestions you want--entrants, rules, etc. Or just tell me this has been done and to find another hobby.
