I wish that when you blocked a poster, when they get quoted by other people that was blocked as well. The blocking feature isn't really that effective when you see half of what that person says anyway in other people's quotes/replies.
I assume this is a proboards issue and not something this place specifically controls, but if it ever got fixed that would be swell.

The posters you're likely talking about usually get a lot of threads here locked or flame other people in live threads, which can be annoying. Which leads me to this question: Does a poster know who's reported them, or is it anonymous?

I just messaged Madison about it, but what do the mods think of a FAN discord?

Personally I think it's a bad idea.

I just messaged Madison about it, but what do the mods think of a FAN discord? I don't think it's a bad idea at all, and I like what you sent me, but it's not something I see as feasible at this exact moment. I won't lie, we're pretty stretched at the moment with the current state of the world and the toll it's taking on us all personally - when things settle down a bit and we can get a good breath, it's something I'd like to look more into. Bring this back to me in a month or two and we'll see where things stand then.

When you block a poster, they can no longer private message you as long as you click all of the boxes correct? I’ve been ignoring some messages that started crossing a line and I only now realized you can block. (Never realky had a need to before in the past 10 years).

Is my current signature image ok? I may not be a mod, but I can tell you, for one, the image needs to be 800 x 600 pixels or smaller, and that's well above the limit.

Is my current signature image ok? I'm not a mod or anything but I don't think I'm going out on the limb to say this isn't a suitable signature I would say a woman in her underwear is a big no for a start

The outright banning of viewpoints and discussion on viewpoints (anyones) on a discussion board is a massive step in the wrong direction. I understand that moderating that stuff is tough sometimes but lads and lassies that's the job you signed up for. I've posted on here for over 10 years I think and at the minute the amount of stuff to navigate to not offend anyone in the search for debate and discussion is ridiculous. If people cant control themselves on here deal with them, dont remove the rights of others to come on here and talk about things. If you do that then what is the point?

If people cant control themselves on here deal with them, dont remove the rights of others to come on here and talk about things. If you do that then what is the point? Like most things, it's not as black and white as that. Sometimes when a moratorium has been put in place on a topic, there's been issues with it in the past and a general disregard for requests/warnings on it. Other times it's more a matter of each time the subject is raised, it spirals out of control and never seems to get better over time, making things tense or a festival of call-outs and warnings. It's not just a general vibe thing, it can also be a "save you from yourself" kind of thing. The locks/temporary holds on topics are always noticeable because they're posted in a way to be noticeable. What sometimes may slip through the cracks are all the times that lead to the decision in the first place, so it may seem like it's a result of an itchy trigger finger when it's not. Also, y'all know what the rules are and most of the time, most of the people here can (and want to) follow them. But when it repeatedly doesn't happen... well, you're gonna get repercussions for that. Modding is like parenting in that regard. Lastly, and this is just a me thing, the "lads and lassies" thing is completely unnecessary. I respect the voicing of a concern or an opinion, but don't be snide about it. This board isn't the Wild West and the "job" of mod isn't a paid one, so a little less snide tone would be really awesome.

The shit that gets banned is generally topics that end up in circles. The Cornette threads as an example, that's been the SAME argument for at least 10 threads.

Yeah, I’m not huge on the idea banning certain topics like that but I’ve been here long enough to see that sometimes you need to ice certain subjects for awhile. Usually gets people to put things in perspective and chill out if/when restrictions get loosened a bit down the road

I never asked this but... why does the post counter max out at a weird number? I know its unrealistic to get it unless you can edit it but is it from Proboards or us?
