I came to the board this morning expecting to see nothing but praise for what I thought was an amazing match between Shelton Benjamin and HBK. I was quite surprised when I saw that some people were not happy with the outcome. I really cannot understand this. I think the match went perfect and had the perfect outcome. They are bringing Shelton along perfectly. I miss the slow build up of a wrestler. Last night did more for Shelton then anything he has been involved in thus far, save maybe the latter match at WM. Shelton came across as having all the tools to beat HBK and all the ability, it was just HBK's experience that got him the win. It wasn't because he was better then Shelton, it was because he had a trick up his sleave that comes with 20 years of wrestling that Shelton didn't expect. Shelton got a little too excited and it cost him the match. That is perfect psychology for a match like that. And Shawn's actions after the match just sealed the deal. I thought the way he kept looking at Shelton like, "Man, this kid is something, I got out of this one by the skin of my teeth" was perfect. HBK has always been really good at little things like that. I saw the complaining that HHH jobbed to Shelton and HBK should have too. But, in reality this match did much more to further his career then those fluke wins over HHH. This match showed that Shelton has all the tools he needs to be in the ring with the greats he just needs some more experience. The kid is going to be a star someday.

I agreed with this too.It is obvious you took awhile to write that, and I applaud you for having the right opinion. This match did more for Shelton than anything else.Hell,Shawn BARELY won this match.

Yeah. The match itself did wonders for Shelton AND HBK in my book. Shelton showed he could go and has skills, HBK showed he still got it.
Oh and that superkick to shelton at the end? DAMN he almost took his head off...

Like i said in the triple h somthing thread.... Hbk won in a fluky kinda way, they set it up as a lucky win for him basically. This match didn't hurt shelton one bit.

Oh, but we mustn't forget that, Shelton hit Michaels with several good shots only to get a 2 count... and a frustrated look on his face. I guess people expect Shawn to win easliy over shelton, but then again you would think that since Michaels is older shelton should totally dominate the match... that didn't happen.

By doing it that way, it doesn't matter that Shelton lost the match, Michaels didn't beat him. So they can use this in later storylines(But knowing WWE, that's not even for sure) I'm gonna have to *right click save as* the Shawn superkick you got there ;D

that superkick made me let out a really loud OOOHH! from teh confines of my easy chair. Swear to God me too!! I think alot of people don't get that when a move like that comes out as good as that kick did, it helps both wrestlers because obviously it takes both of them to sell it, and they did a perfect job at that. Michaels doing the kick and shelton selling that kick is as important as both of them doing their athletic moves. Now if only shelton would improve on the mic...
