LONDON vs. AKIO, part 57! Hey, I never get tired of seeing those two.
And the Guerrero/Mysterio stuff looks solid as all hell.
Dark Match
Charlie Haas over Big Vito Lagrasso
Haas was booed pretty heavily when he hit the ring, yet was the big favorite after the match. Kinda sloppy.
Velocity
Jindrak over Spike
I think Spike's goatee is on the juice.
Big Show over the S.A.T. in a handicapped match
It was nice seeing old ROH/PWF favorites in action. Joel has lost a ton of weight and Jose was announced as "Joe" even though his name is on his tights. Unfortunately, no Spanish Fly tonight. Just comedy spots and a squash.
Bashams over Nunzio & Funaki
Nunzio was over pretty well. Mask Confusion at the finish as Nunzio I believe was rolled up for the pin.
Paul London over Akio
This was the match of the night, even though the Trenton Trash kept cheering "boring" and booing. Some creative spots. I got my $5 ticket's worth right here.
SMACKDOWN!
Show starts with Rey/Eddie recap from last week.
Rey hits the ring sans "jumping out the sky" and calls out Eddie. Eddie answers, gets run down verbally, then smacked around, but he won't fight back.
In the back, Chavo stirs up trouble with them after the break.
Matt Morgan over ??
Opponent was unannounced. Thankfully, a quick match. The stuttering is totally over with the crowd. Right. At least his music is cool.
Video airs of Christina Aguilara introducing the making of John Cena's video.
Video recap of 4-way from last week.
Booker T over Orlando Jordan in a non-title match
Decent match followed by the spin-a-rooni. Post match features Mrs. T in the back as Angle sneaks up on her and tells her he's gonna kick Booker's ass at Judgment Day. In the line of the night, he said Booker should be arrested for committing grand larceny on smackdown last week, costing him the title shot, but "thats a charge Booker's probably familiar with."
MNM over Scotty 2 Hotty & The Prince of Punk
MNM has really good heat with the crowd and Melina has the greatest ring entrance in sports history (sorry Goldust and Sandman). Scotty went for the worm and Melina distracted him with some leg action, allowing MNM to finish him off.
Backroom brawl with Rey & Chavo which leads to the main event of those two battling in a Trenton Street Fight. I thought street fights were a house show gimmick...
The wrestling god JBL hits the ring to the most heat of the night, and after a promo which got no love from the crowd, Cena hits the ring. Cena challenged him to an "I Quit" Match at Judgement Day after doing some Chris Farelly-like banter about JBL "not washing between his legs and crotch."
Chavo was talking to MNM in the back about security or something and it was cut off for Angle's entrance.
Kurt Angle no decision vs.
The match never started, no ref hit the ring, Angle stiffed this guy like Hardcore Holly on Tough Enough. The guy was never announced but had "Hot Shot" on his tights. The crossface chop he landed echoed through the building and he just nailed some sick stuff. Booker hit the ring w/ wife and she slapped Angle around while T held him. Kurt broke away, chased her down and put her in the ankle lock on the "ramp" until Fit, Double A, and the refs broke it up.
The Diva Dance Party (w/ mini Fifi) to Cena's album was broken up for some Heidenreich poetry. He spoke about "Bad Bad Women" and how he likes them. Dawn went off on him, and the rest decided to befriend him if he danced with them. Great. Hey Jackie, I'll dance with ya if you become my special friend.
In the back, Chavo fanned the fire for Eddie.
Carlito over Hardcore Holly
Carlito escaped injury and pinned Holly with his devastating finisher...the feet-on-the-ropes roll up. Brutal match to watch. Carlota made a major announcement that Big Show will be on the Cabana next week where he'll get an offer he can't refuse.
Teddy Long hit the ring asking the playas and babes in the crowd to shake their booties while the Cena video debuted. Great. It's basically an A-Team gimmick where Cena is Hannibal and they kill a bunch of terrorists who are holding the 80's hostage. Gary Coleman then blows up a building with everyone in it and Cena and crew are the only survivors. Great.
Rey Mysterio over Chavo
The broke out the killer trash can, chair, and ladder for this one. Rey hit a nice Asai moonsault off the ladder outside while he was laid up against the ropes. Rey won with a flying butt pliers onto Chavo while he was sitting in the chair. It was more of a flying lapdance, because he landed square on Chavo's lap, and then they fell backwards.
MNM attacked in the post-match and Eddie answered the chants of the fans, to make the save, clearing house, and hugging Rey. Oh yeah, in the SHOCKER of the night, Eddie turns on Rey...again...and beats the snot out of him. He tore half the mask off...literally tore the mask off. Rey was bloodied up, so the big secret of what he looks like remains in tact. Eddie finished him off with a big suplex outside with Rey landing back-first onto the steps. Vicious. "Holy Shit" chant broke out. Eddie walked to the back.
We opted for beating traffic over the main event dark match of my man JBL & OJ vs. Cena & Show.
