I always liked it for how you could get a lot of news ande info condensed in the one place, such as how injured guys' recovery was coming along, what was being planned for certain things, and how it was much more open compared to today's "toe the company line/keep kayfabe" thing. Back then, JR would admit to a PPV being crap or go into details about why a guy was released and how he really felt about it. You just don't get that sort of thing anymore. He had some odd little bits worked into it,though, like "As my momma used to say" stuff

funny I was thinking about the ross report earlier today.
Truthfully I liked it, for one it gave the companies perspective on why people were fired. It let the fans know if someone was injured hasn't just disapeered ... like the undertaker... kenzo... I dont think they ever mentioned Stevie was injured on TV... etc. etc.

I don't really miss it...but did enjoy reading it. It was kinda fun trying to figure out j.r's cryptic messages, week after week.

for seemingly two years straight, he kept saying "Expect Test to make a big impact sometime soon" though ;D

Why did he stop writing it again? Didn't management get upset because he was hurting wrestlers' feelings by calling them out as being crap in his column or somthing?

I used to read the Ross Report every week. I hadn't thought about it in a long time though. I just get my fix of that from Raw Magazine I guess. J.R. has never been afraid to say what he thinks, no matter if it hurts someone's feelings.

Didn't WCW.Com have it's own version of the "Ross Report"? I remember this being one of the many things that confused me when I first started watching wrestling. I want to say it was written by some guy who happened to also be named "Jim Ross".

I loved it, it was the way I got news about wrestling before I learned about all the news sites. I heard it was ended because HHH thought it gave away too much of what went on behind the scens. Can that be confirmed?

It was pretty good, I like that JR let ya know what he thought stuff but wasn't afraid let you know what sucked. Couple things bothered me though was he one time praised Triple H about doing his thing in the company and said that people on the internet were wrong about Triple H and he also talked about how he didn't like the Internet because some people didn't know what talking about when it came to wrestling, which I think sometimes or most time it's true but I mean guys like RD and others-tell like it is. He did predict when Batista started on Raw that he would be champ at sometime, pretty on the money about JR was.

I loved it. He came out swinging, telling the readers who sucked and who needed to lose weight.

Apparently some other guy who's first name was Ross. Being that this was in the middle of the monday nite war, and I was bred on WWF, I thought it was just another lame attempt to copy or cheapshot the WWF.

I LOOOVED the Ross Report. It kept us updated on who was out, what was coming and all that good stuff. It's a detriment to not have it on. As horrific as I find good ol' JR, Bah Gawd that column made up for it.
I liked how there were times when the injured list was like the list of the dead from Gone With the Wind... seemingly endless.
Hell, at least we knew what was going on. Now, it's kayfabe all around.
