These guys were the two biggest wrestling stars in the 80s and they were the top guys in the two biggest promotions.
There was a time when I was a kid in the 80s when it seemed like a match between the two was an impossible dream match.
So, in the 80s, who did you prefer, Hogan or Flair?

I have to pick Hogan. The main reason is that I grew up in the UK where NWA was not shown very often. The WWF was on a lot and Hogan ruled it then. I have since watched a lot of Flair's matches from the 80's and while the matches from a wrestling point of view are certainly better, Hogan is the reason I started watching wrestling. Therefore, he gets my vote.

In the 80's I preffered Hogan, 90's onward - Flair. The first move I saw Flair do was the Flair Flop, like it now, but it used to really annoy me.

I voted for HH even though I had to think about it for a while. Difficult pick. I didn't think HH would dominate like he is (thus far.)

So, in the 80s, who did you prefer, Hogan or Flair? Hogan is the most overated pile of garbage ever to step in the ring...brother!

Ric Flair, to me, is the best of all-time. Period. Not only could Flair move a crowd the same as Hogan, his matches, for the most part, were far more entertaining.

The question is, who did you prefer IN THE 80's. For me, that's Hogan. (I was a kid!) But I think Flair is the better performer, and I still enjoy watching him.

Flair
Even in the 80's I was never a Hogan fan. There was something about Flair and the Horsemen that I really connected with. I was a much bigger WWF fan at that time too.
Flair for me...

Hogan was the biggest icon the wrestling industry has ever known. Like him or not it's true, it's damn true! ;D

I chose Hogan. Flair is a legend, but he's not as well known as Hulk Hogan.

Just ask some non-wrestling fans if they know Hulk Hogan. Then ask them about Flair.
Like him or not, Hogan put wrestling on the map of mass culture. He was the icon of wrestling; he crossed the borders of the business and went to Hollywood.
Flair was more talented, a better performer and an amazing entertainer, but in terms of worldwide fame, there's no contest.

I had to vote Hogan. I only got to see any wrestling other than WWF when I was visiting relatives due to availability in my area, and so I think the only Flair match I ever saw during the 80s, which was a cage match against Sting,on a video I rented and is actually one of the most memorable matches I recall seeing back then. I was really excited when Flair came to WWF, but that wasn't until '92, so I vote Hogan.
