www.prowrestling.com/news.php?id=13478/articles/newsIt appears that the WWe filmed that segment with Shawn-Maria four times, and purposely went with the one where she calls our favorite piece of feces "The Edge". Either the person who calls her her "favorite airhead" is on to something as a gimmick, or the WWe is really messed up and constantly gets a kick out of making her look stupid.

What's sad is that Maria wasn't even in on the joke. She probably still thinks that Shawn wrestled the guitarist for U2 on Monday.

Is it just me or was he originally called "The Edge" during those original vignettes or did I just place that into my mind for some odd reason?
But back to the subject of the thread. That really seems almost sad that they would choose to air that if they filmed it 4 times. Some live on-air ribbing is fine but that's just sad.

Yeah, I swear when Edge first was around he was called "The Edge." It would have made sense if Maria was around 6 or 7 years ago and called him that, but unfortunately, it did not.

I don't think Edge has EVER had "The" attached to his name, unless it was during his very early days as part of the Brood, but even then I don't remember it.

I don't think he was ever called The Edge. Although I know that when he first debuted, a LOT of newsletters and internet news sites called him The Edge accidentally. It took a few matches for him to be announced as simply "Edge" before it stuck with most fans.

I remember Michael Cole calling him "The Edge" a time or two, but that can be expected, since Cole is a moron.

Like the Burns skit on the horse in the film festival..... Or maybe she's such a Super Smark that she remembers when Edge used to be called "The Edge"............ just kidding. The only thing I remember about Edge's debut is that he messed up that guy from Los Boricua's neck with a plancha....... |

I totally agree on that. She is probably well aware that she's unqualified for her job -- but she'd be stupid to turn down that hearty paycheck. I can't blame her. I can blame WWE for hiring her, but I can't blame her for taking the job.....
