for those who don't know kevin fertig was mordichai. i personally wanna know what cornett said it must have been good
from prowrestling.com
Below is the full story behind what happened with Jim Cornette at the OVW tapings last week.
Kevin Fertig was in the ring with Daniel Puder as his partner against the team of Kenzo Suzuki and El Diablo in a dark match. The match was designed to give Suzuki and Puder some ring time to work in front of a live crowd.
Fertig came to the ring with a baseball cap on backwards and apparently just goofed around in the ring and put his hat back on after taking bumps. Jim Cornette sent word from the backstage area to the ring that he needed to stop his stupid antics.
Once the message was received, Fertig took a sombrero that a fan had at ringside and did more stupid antics, When he returned to the back after the match, Cornette threw a fit and cut a pretty nasty promo on him which caused him to be suspended from OVW.
Fertig is said to be unpopular in some circles backstage but is also someone who has great potential. He was also inovled in a fight at a bar in Louisville, Kentucky several months ago and has court scheduled for this summer.
There was concern last week that they were actually going to fire Cornette but Jim Ross stepped in and clamed the situation down. He'll be back in about five weeks.
Tommy Dreamer will be overseeing Ohio Valley Wrestling TV while Cornette takes a break with Lance Storm, Al Snow

Can you blame him? He has to find ways to properly book wrestlers like Mordecai. I'm shocked he hasn't gone into coronary arrest yet.

Can you blame him? He has to find ways to properly book wrestlers like Mordecai. I'm shocked he hasn't gone into coronary arrest yet. I loved that line. But let me tell you, as an OVW watcher, Cornette and Danny Davies does wonders. And while they have to actually teach obvious quick names like Mordecai (Fertig) and Matt Morgon, but, it's kind have got to be awarding to see these 'no-talents' at first step up and become the future of the WWE. Matt Morgon especially. The guy was AWFUL when he first showed up in OVW (and on his first WWE stint, but in OVW, when he first showed up, at lease on tv, he was useless, could barely run the ropes and so on. but Cornette, Davies and the other OVW trainers made this guy the complete pacage considering who he is. And, I've said it before, all hoss-ness away, he will be main-eventing WrestleMania by 23. Not enough can be said about Cornette and the rest of the head gang down in OVW. And this might not be saying much, but there show beats anything WWE gives us. Oh, and Al Snow will be replacing Cornette on commentary for those 5 weeks. Can't wait to hear the Snow Man.

Johnny Ace-hole wanted to fire him so he can wipe out "old school" and have his band of yes-men wrestlers.

So you're telling me that Fertig wasn't punished at all for his actions? Unless I'm just really unfamiliar with OVW and his current gimmick is that of a goof?

fertig is probably on the fast track to the wwe and odds are in ct he can do no wrong...
maybe thats why a guy like randy orton has the attitude he does, because in ovw he was above the law...

Well, based on the story I read, I'm siding with Cornette. Fertig is supposed to be a professional and Corny is the boss in OVW (not the BOSS, but he is an authority figure). If an employee blatantly disregards a request from a superior in a company, disciplinary actions are deserved. Corny was in the right as I see it.

i've seen some old ovw tapes, and i think cornette is a great play by play man. while he's off from ovw, maybe he can go back to roh and give them some good promos.

This from 411 Wrestling:
Fertig has grown very unpopular in some circles. While he is talented, he is said to be taking a lot of shortcuts and very concerned with "popping the boys" rather than improving. Fertig also has a civil case coming up due to beating up a guy at a Louisville bar awhile back.
Popping the boys? Isn't that what got Michael Jackson in trouble?

It sounds like Fertig picked up some tips from the time he hung out in the locker room showers with JBL.
