Yea, that was pretty sick. But it is just one more piece of evidence I can point to in my never ending crusade to stop idiots from claiming that wrestling is "fake".

I hear it was from guys (mainly Regal) working him stiff after he screwed over some indy fed and asked them to pay him more because he's a 'big star' in the WWE now.

It's Regal's business because Regal is a Professional Wrestler, and as a Pro Wrestler, it's your duty to act as a professional at all times. If one schmuck starts giving the industry you worked so hard to achieve success in a bad name because of his arrogant and rude behavior toward others who may one day provide your meal ticket, I can imagine you'd be pretty peeved off too.
It's not my place to say whether he deserved it or not, but then again, I don't work in the industry.
As far as your Bob Holly comment goes, I think we're talking about two completely different things. When Holly "shoots" on a kid just for the sake of roughing him up a bit, that could be looked down upon, especially if the rookie didn't do anything to warrant it. As is the case with someone stiffing him with a nasty rental car bill most recently, it might not have been the most professional thing to do, but getting stiffed in the ring is a whole lot better than going to court. I don't think anyone condones it when a worker decides to shoot on another wrestler in the ring, as it's their job to protect their opponent at all times, but there will be incidents that on a case by case basis can be looked at with a certain scrutiny instead of praise.
Allow me to summarize my statement:
Bob Holly stiffing newbies and green workers just because he can = unprofessionalism.
Regal stretching a newbie because he has undermined the very system in which every single wrestler has worked hard to maintain = unprofessionalism.
In either case, I can certainly see Regal's issue before I can see Holly's issue.
Except for that whole car rental thing.
And even then, that was more a personal issue than not.
Or, perhaps I'm not making any sense.

You know, Regal didn't endanger the kid's well being, just gave him a "don't do that again" trip around the ring. Holly took a chair to Dupree's head straight on and beat him to the point he curled into a ball unable to defend himself.
There's a *slight* difference.

No he didn't. where did you read that?
Edit: i just did a search. i think it's a bit exaggerated, but it has been reported that he used a chair. I apologize.

No he didn't. where did you read that? I thought I had read he curled up into a ball, sorry, he just took a stiff chair shot straight to the face, and then stiff punches and kicks straight to the face. Sorry, added more than what happened there.

I edited my original post. there have been various reports of what happen. we only know what we read, so it's quite possible what you said is true.

Yeah, I saw that after I typed up mine...
Getting back on subject though, while I don't think that what Regal did was right 'per se,' it's a lot different than what Holly did to Dupree.
Hell, they could probably use it to get the guy over some more. "Look at the beating this kid took and he's still coming back for more!"

There's teaching a punk some respect and then there's being a bully for bullying's sake.
It may come to be that Regal helped make Antonio a better worker by knocking him around a bit. Holly beating the tar out of that Tough Enough kid because he could was inexcusable.
The wounds were about the same, but the sentiments behind their application was completely different. Regal is a wrestler, Holly is a jerk.

^Nah, The right guy got it.
I just watched the match and it looked like a legit mistake. I think it looked worst then it actually was. Just caught him in a bad spot and it swelled up pretty quick.
But like i said, i doubt tajiri/regal purposely stiffed him.....just another blown up situation courtesy of the internet, in my opinion.

Actually Chris Masters has a smaller shiner now as well. Romeo's covers like his whole eye socket where Masters' is just under his eye. (forget which)

This industry is a big one for 'taking care of it among the boys'. Which I have no problem with. Regal stretched Antonio and now it's over. No endless meetings on "sensitivity" or "teamwork", no mediation with the boss, who's got better things to do aside from hashing out little crap, no written warnings that do nothing.
AngryBob took the thing with Rene a little far, but that was supposed to be of the same ilk.

I wish I could do that at my job.
Someone takes credit for my work?
I stretch them into submission. I'll make them tap right in the front lobby. Then the issue would be done and over with.
