Let me see....
Ric Flair is the 16 time WORLD Champion. HHH is the 10 time WORLD Champion. but....
Chris Benoit is the 1 time WORLD Champion???
How is this possible? I suppose the WWE counts Flairs NWA and WCW title reigns, and HHH WWE title reigns, along with his actual WORLD Title reigns. Booker T is the 5 time WCW Champion...but not a 5-time WORLD Champion, when we all know its the same belt.
Im confused.

They count them both as one Heavyweight title, but only in history. Every other time, they're separate.
Why are you so confused that Benoit was a 1 time champion? He has only won one world title, since his WCW win didn't count.

I agree that when they say "16 time world champion", they are referring to both WWF/E and WCW title reigns combined. I am guessing that both of those are considered to be "World caliber" titles. Now why Booker T always specifically says 5 time WCW champion, I do not know. Maybe he's proud to have been one of WCW's top guys.

Well when Flair was in WCW they would tout however many title reigns he did have at the time, and the WWF world title was counted in that list as well.
