I just watched the DVD again, and I wonder was the WWF ever really in danger of closing down? I mean their ratings were lower than wcw's. but wrestling was super popular in those days, I think they have about the same ratings now as they had during 1997 or am I really wrong ;D

I think at one point Vince was borrowing from the bank to keep the WWE running. But this could be before the Monday Night Wars.

You know how WCW was always just one Vince Russo-angle away from closing? That's how it was for the WWF for a while. NOTHING seemed to go right because McMahon lost his touch on the buisness for a while. Then he admitted he had, and things started to turn around.
But yeah, things apparently were damn close. Bischoff wasn't lying when he said he expected the WWF to be closed down within six months.

and how real are the interviews on that dvd. I mean it looks like bisschoff is satan and McMahon is god but very nice piece of wrestling history and of course rey-rey flying face first into the trailer ;D

One of the MAIN reasons in my opinion that to this day The Rock and Vince have a good relationship, and they still mention the Rock in WWE, is because he was a MAJOR part of WWE not sinking during the Monday Night Wars.
I'm not the biggest Rock fan, but there were some nights where it seemed that he carried the entire show.

I always wondered if the Monday Night Wars would of happened if the World Series wasn't canceled in 1994. If you think about it, that did give both companys more viewers to fish for.

Ain't that the truth. He was basically just acting like a cheerleader on there. "The lesson here is that you should not mess with Vince McMahon, or we're gonna kick your butt." Please.

it was as if everyone on the dvd was speaking the truth on what they felt except for ol' Gerald Brisco who could have been reading a cue card behind the camera.
