Smackdown rant - when enough is enough

i was disgusted last night.

Ok, so yet another "jump the face" conclusion at the end of the show *yawn* hey look here comes Eddie Guerrero to clean house, pretty cool. now Eddie turns on Rey Mysterio, Ok i'll buy that.

but after ramming his head into the ringpole was it really necessary to go further? everybody in the damn arena and watching at home GOT IT ALREADY!

Rey sold it so well.

for me it was just sickening.

what was the damn point.

Loved how they got the crowds reactions, twas a thing of dramatic beauty. Here's hoping for a long rivalry....

i'm glad they finally cut to the chase with eddie adn ray. it was starting to get a little uncomfortable there. i was expecting them to start making out with each other with all of the lovey dovey crap that was going on.

did you see the looks on the young kids faces that they showed before going off air? (a related rant would be what kind of parent takes a kid that young to a WWE show?)

It was really effective and shocking . . . its what a heel turn should be . . . If this was the 10 things I like about smackdown . . . eddie's turn and eddie in general is number one on the list . . .

The mask effect was a bonus . . .

i don't know if that was too much or not but it was very dramatic and yeah, maybe a little overboard i guess but i'm sure they accomplished what they set out to do. Eddie will get booed out of the building the next time he's on the camera.

i don't know how legit those shots of the crowd looking all "concerned" were. those could have been added in there from another time when the crowd just sitting there all bored between matches or something.

Showing him beating Rey down already after a beating makes him look even badder than he was before but he's doing the heel thing taking advantage of a situation. And that suplex on the steps looked pretty cool for someone to do, haven't seen that before I was expecting the suplex off onto the concrete.

maybe it's the difference between being brought up on old-school rasslin (me) and being brought up on ECW style (many of you)?

i got the heel turn and that WAS pretty cool. saving him from a double team, helping him up, and tehn clotheslining him. EG being sick of Rey's act and all that.

but to me, the work could have stopped with Rey busted and bleeding, Eddie could've spit on him or something, and is he any less of a hated heel?

i just read a review of the WHOLE show. i only saw the last bit.

I'd say that, yeah, it was necessary--given what they're apparently trying to do with Eddie.

They're not just trying to make him out to be a heel--they're trying to make it look like he's gone off the deep end.

Eddie is selling it VERY well, IMO, and I think it's a good call. After all, Eddie's whole gimmick is "Lie, cheat, and steal." A normal heel turn just wouldn't cut it at this point. "Oh, no, Eddie's cheating now...err...but he always did that. He lied to Rey...uhh...but he's always done THAT, too. So why are we booing him now?"

Ah, but Eddie going after Rey over and over until he looks half-dead...THAT has impact.

Especially with Eddie being able to play the out of his mind guy so well, either quietly or screaming..............

to be honest i thought he was going to do his brainbuster on the steps. but the suplex was sweet and bent rey rey in half. OUCH!!

this was probably as good of a heel turn as they could have done with eddie. The suplex with the ripped mask just added to the effect.
