We open with Scotty 2 Hotty and Albert beating Test and Christian. Good lord what horrible booking to have these two clows go over Test and Christian. It was your typical TV match. Nothing great. 2 stars.
I.C Champion Edge beat William Regal. This was a good match that featured a lot of in ring psychology. Throughout most of the match Regal controlled the bout and then out of nowhere Edge won the match with the spear. At one point in the match Edge tried to jump off the ring and sphere Regal and missed and went right into the ring steps. It looked pretty stiff. 2 stars.
Jeff Hardy beat Matt Hardy (Lita was the guest referee). This match was a huge disappointment. Going into this match everybody expected a high flying contest that these two guys are famous for. Even Jim Ross at the beginning of the match said that there was no doubt that this would be a spot fest. What these two guys did was just put on what most would call an average, mostly mat wrestling match. The finish came when Jeff pinned Matt and Lita counted without seeing Matt's foot on the ropes. 1 1/2 stars.
Dudley Boys beat Big Show and Kane to retain the WWF Tag Titles. There was very little technical wrestling but it was good brawling from the start to the finish. A little bit of comedy when Big Show slapped Stacey bare bottom but other than that it was mostly as brawl. The finish was good with the Dudley's giving the Big Show a flapjack on the exposed ring post. 1 1/2 stars.
Undertaker beat RVD to win the Hardcore Title. It was a huge spot fest right from the beginning. The first few minutes were the only time they were in the actual ring. One impressive spot was Rob Van Dam dove off the top of an entrance way with a cross body on the Undertaker. The finish came when the Undertaker choke slammed Rob Van Dam off the stage and through tables to win the Hardcore belt for the first time. 3 stars.
Trish beat Jackquline to retain the Women's Title. It seemed like this match went about a minute or two too long because the last couple of minutes featured a lot a bocked spots and really wasn't that impressive. 1 star.
Steve Austin beat Kurt Angle in Round 1 of the Unifying Title Bout. This match wasn't close to the caliber that the two previous matches between these two were when these two meet first at Summerslam and the at Unforgiven. This match obviously couldn't have as much energy put into them because one of these guys knew that they would have to meet someone else later in the night. 4 1/2 stars.
Chris Jericho beat The Rock in Round 1. This was a better match then the previous one. It seemed like both of these guys were giving at all and really produced a nice fast paced match. The finish was good and there was no break for Jericho and he was right into the next match for the Undisputed Championship 4 1/2 stars.
Chris Jericho beat Steve Austin to win the WWF/WCW World Title. This was just an amazing performance by Chris Jericho. He wrestled straight for well over forty-five minutes. This was a great decision by the WWE because they took this chance to help put over a different superstar. The finish was good with Booker T interfering because it helped make Chris Jericho even more of a heel. A great night for Chris Jericho. 5 stars.
For that fact alone this is an important pay-per-view for history reasons. Also this featured a great Hardcore Championship match this was mostly a spot fest. The rest of the action was average but this is a tape that you should add to your collection just for the sole reason of it's important history in the wrestling business. I'm a huge Jericho mark so of course I'm going to reccomend it
