It's my personal belief that John Cena will never be booked as overpowering as he was back in 2007 ever again.
WWE ran with him as "the man" for about 2 and 1/2 years, and when he came back from his quad tear he started choking excessively. The only real successes he's had upon his return were winning the Rumble (at a #30 entry, not even drawing a higher number to allow him to overcome odds), beating JBL in two back to back PPV matches (before jobbing in a street fight that he logically should have gone over in, prior to Summerslam) and co-holding the tag titles for one week.
Yet some fans still think he'll eventually start running over everybody again once he wins his next world title. So I propose this, and you can bookmark the thread so you'll hold me to this promise:
I have a St. Louis Cardinal cap I like to wear. If Cena- upon his next return- wins one of the three world titles (as a face), and overcomes the odds to retain the belt in five straight PPV defenses, then "Supercena" will truly be back- and I'll not only eat the cap but I'll post pics of me eating it.
Now remember, it has to be five defenses in a row. You can't start demanding that I eat the hat if he retains the title in three PPV matches but then loses it. And he has to be a face- I won't count it if he turns heel and cheats his way to successful defenses.
Who wants to take me up on this?

Cena's going to be around for a long time. He may not be superface Hogan booked Cena on his return, but it's not unreasonable to think he might be at some point in the future.

After the fellating that the guys gave him in that video package last night, I would not doubt we see a supercena return. I don't know what I'd have to put up against you, but I don't think you're on the safe side of the bet.

It's either pics being posted of me eating my hat, or not.

Call him Supercena, count how many PPVs, whatever you want.
He's the face of the company, whether you or anyone else likes it or not.

He'll win the world title in the main event of Mania. Whether he holds it for 5 months I dunno, but I wouldn't doubt it.

Call him Supercena, count how many PPVs, whatever you want. He's the face of the company, whether you or anyone else likes it or not. And rightfully so. Let's look at the facts: - 4 Move Cena has been passed, since he's a lot better now than he used to be. - He sells lots of hats, shirts, etc. That counts for a lot. - He is modest, and puts over people. He's by all accounts a good guy, and has a lot of friends in wrestling. -He works hard. Very hard. WWE has relied on him a lot in the past, and he's had to bust his ass. During all of this, he hasn't embarrassed the company. He stays clean, he doesn't badmouth people, he doesn't skip shows, and he stays clear of the law. He's been a godsend to WWE. It's like how the Rock was. People love Rock now, but damned if every message board wasn't throwing him under a bus when he was on top.

He wasn't SuperCena after coming back from the pec injury, so why it would change now? He won the Rumble, which always means a Wrestlemania win, and what happened? He lost.

I liked it when Mickie said it was like there was a ghost in the room - that should be the gimmick, Cena is in fact dead, and only Mickie can see him.

I've always heard the expression, but how exactly does one eat a hat? I guess I'd wind up partially eating it. Take some scissors, cut it up, then grab a fork and eat the pieces. I doubt I'd eat it entirely, don't want to endanger my health. It's 100% cotton, BTW. But that isn't going to happen, because we're never seeing "Supercena" again.
