No what I said was "I'M THE BLOODY FUNNY ONE, KEEP YOUR UNFUNNY JOKES TO YOURSELF YOU ABOSLUTE TWIT. WHO WON THE FUNNIEST CRAPPER AWARD?! WHO DID? YEAH IT WAS SQUARE" I think what you mean is 'Oh eJm, that was funny. You know, you should tell more jokes. They're great!' ;D Selective memory again, like how you only remember the first half of your date with Becky until you realised she was actually Ben. You didn't end the date though and went for coffee if I remember...

I'm taking it upon myself to sticky this thread and leave it open past the 30 page limit just to keep there from being endless threads about this. Keep ALL discussion about this incident here. Thanks

I know that the whole forum is ready to defend Jericho because "He's a good wrestler" and "He's good on the mic", but you do not hit a woman. Period. Chris Jericho is a worthless piece of s**t. He brought it on himself and I hope he gets reprimanded for this. hey moron how did he 'bring it on himself'......SHE hit HIM first which in my book = grounds for self defense...he should have kicked her teeth down her throat...if women want to be viewed as equals in EVERY OTHER ASPECT then they should stop putting themselves in positions like this where they cross the line with performers and choose to get physical and cannot separate a character on tv from reality...chris neevr physically touched the woman or her bf before she got physical with him...he retaliated...end of discussion

The gender double standards need to f***ing stop.
If this was Jericho's fault, it should be just as wrong to punch anyone as it is a girl.

Wrong. no one should have bothered jericho in the first place. it's not like he sucker punched her for asking for his autograph in a hotel lobby. She was part of a mob of fans who were surrounding his car. She also put her hands on him, which she had no right to. I don't approve of hitting women, but if you're gonna fight like a man while doing something so stupid, prepare to get hit like a man. that's what happened.

Guys I am firmly in the 'both sides are at fault camp' so please dont flame or criticise me for this. But say your girlfriend started screaming at you and spat at you and shoved you a little bit, does it give you the right to punch her in the face? I'm just asking for your opinion here, this isn't criticising anyone. I'd say this situation was completely different for a few reasons. In the girlfriend/wife situation, you know who you are dealing with and probably in less of a surprising situation. In this case he was surrounded by people, many of which are screaming negative things at him, then he gets into an altercation with a women and her boyfriend. This is the most important part of this, he turned to get inside of his car when the women ran up spit in his face and shoved him. In this sort of situation, he could honestly think that he was in danger, thus him reacting violently and was probably the correct decision with what happened. Though what he did do wrong was get out of the car and confront the boyfriend. But with the punch, it was on instinct and when someone attacks you when your getting in your car, no matter what gender, that's what your supposed to do.

I'm normally on board with the idea of hitting a woman=piece of crap. If you're in a situation where a woman's attacking you, chances are you can either restrain her or just leave without doing her any harm. But when a woman AND her two male friends are attacking you in the middle of a mob of lunatics who look like they're ready to join in, you've probably got to drop the chivalry for a few minutes and do whatever it takes to keep yourself out of the hospital.

Women can be carrying weapons. We do have hands and opposable thumbs. I would want any guy in my family or among my friends to hit a female stranger who shoved/leapt at/otherwise physically assaulted him, and I wouldn't think any less of him for it. I'd rather some crazy woman get a bruise on her face than a guy I cared about get stabbed or worse. The thing about Jericho is simply this. He's shown himself in public to be thoughtful, intelligent and decent. Since I know that about him, and I don't know anything about this woman, I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt that he felt threatened. I certainly would, surrounded by screaming people, being trapped in one place by them, and then finally my personal space and my person itself being violated by hostile strangers. Could he have handled it better? Sure. He probably shouldn't have stopped the car. Nudge 'em gently if they won't get out of the way. But once he was out of the car, he was in a hostile situation, and I honestly can't say I would've reacted any better, so I can't in good conscience fault him for what he did.

That'll show her. There is a major double standard here. Women are held to such a high degree that they can do just about anything and feel bulletproof. Most men, me included, take the abuse rather than do the right thing (what Jericho did). I hope there is a day in society when hitting people period is considered wrong, but what would the world be without double standards? I will only speak for myself when I say thank you Chris. I have no sympathy for women like that. I know a girl who has been raped before. Those are the ones I feel bad for, not ones who spit on and hit people.

One, Square, stop going off topic or post your love letters to EJM in another thread. Thanks.
Two, Jericho screwed up plain and simple. Yes, I would have acted the same way for the most part, but shoving a door on you does not justify punching someone in the face. Security was pretty piss poor to begin with, but Jericho snapped and should have gotten in the car and left instead of continuing the chaos by spitting on people.
I think all sides are complete idiots in this, but Jericho really f***ed up.

It would be quite epic to see Jericho next Monday on RAW calling out that chick he clocked as he did with Mickey Rourke!
Hell, maybe he could get in a few lowblows, like "Hey Mickey, at least a girl had the balls to try to go one-on-one with me. What kind of man does that make YOU?"
I have faith that Vince can make some major lemonade with this situation!

He brought it on himself and I hope he gets reprimanded for this. With all due respect, I couldn't disagree more. I won't focus on the parts that other people have already responded to you on, but I will say that I hate, hate, HATE the fact that some posters here assume people take thier stances on situations such as these because "he/she is a good worker". I believe Jericho was justified in his actions for several reasons, not a single one of them being his workrate, and I personally am offended by the fact that you presume everyone is defending him because he's "A good wrestler". I'm not trying to change your opinion; no one should. I simply ask that you refrain from such assumptions of everyone who disagrees with said opinion. That goes for everyone else who has posted like-minded comments.

I think all sides are complete idiots in this, but Jericho really snorked up. First, I was just as bad as Square was so I'll take responcibility for it as well. It won't happen again. Second, that's my view too. It really should have been dealt better by all sides concerned especially by security. The crowds were idiots, Jericho was an idiot and security were just plain piss poor, as Kash said.

Wait...I thought Jericho was the one spit on? This thread is making my head spin. I'll add no further comments in here. Mine too but I'm going by this line: "He spit in the girl's face, and called her a "snorking bitch". The woman then spit in Jericho's face." He spit in her face first. I've only posted my thoughts. People can agree or disagree, and that's cool. But I think Jericho had the most to lose from this situation.
