Quick Question: I would rather not watch the video but does it look like he worked the punch at all? Everyone's at fault and Jericho shouldn't get a free pass. However, I can understand how he could feel: though it seems improbable today, wrestlers have been stabbed, partially blinded, and assaulted by fans. I also know how people can feel in group situations with their emotions built up. I blame everyone and understand everyone in the situation. I think hitting a woman is acceptable if she proves a legitimate threat to you or you mistake her for doing so BUT, as someone who reacts quickly myself and who's had anger issues, Jericho acted harshly and went too far. However, I wasn't involved so i can't speak about the reality of the situation, only what I can infer about that reality. No one comes off well in this situation, even if things were done in self defense or because of emotional and physical distress. While her friends and herself may have provoked Jericho, she did not deserve a punch though what one deserves and what one gets often don't align. She shouldn't have reached into the car. you're asking for trouble right there. Jericho didn't screw Ashley Levey, Ashley Levey screwed Ashley Levey!!!! |

not saying Jericho was in the right, but from everything I've seen and read the fans weren't exactly just heckling. They took it a bit too far.

forgive me for not wanting to sift through 30+ pages but have we gotten any indication or has anyone entertained the possibility that this is all just a work...possibly for a new direction for jericho? moving from serious robo heel to a randy orton esque badass/semi douche...i mean what with this happening in canada and all...just a thought

Having just read this, I'm sorry I gotta agree with Jericho.
First there was a time when fans were respectful and while will yell at wrestlers would NEVER touch them or their cars.
That aside as I'm sure some will debate that point, the man was detained and his vehicle assualted by a crowd of people, then the man himself was assualted, no wonder he came out swing, after showing some pretty amazing restraint.
Good for Jericho, the damn people are lucky that's all he did.

If you're harrasing someone and being a dick to them, dont be shocked when they turn around and try to clock you one. Keep your nose in your own business. Obviously fighting is not the "right" thing to do, but if I kept getting in someones face and egging them on I wouldnt be shocked if I got decked for it.

Ok, after that, he clearly sees it's a woman before he punches her. I challenge. Do a frame-by-frame when the animated gif loops back to the beginning. Frame 28 or so, it looks like he hit his head. Frame 29, its clear he did. 2 frames later or so, his left hand is in view with his face still looking down, 1 frame later, his fist is plainly in view with him putting his body into the swing. First time he knows his target is mid-swing, and even then, its hard to say that in the span of say, 5 frames, there was enough time for him to register that it was a woman. |

This reminds me of the time I got suckerpunched by a drunken Michael Hayes at a Best Western outside Poughkeepsie, New York. I egged him on though. I told him that Jimmy Garvin had better hair. Back in 1989, that's all it took to get a wrestler all riled up. Well that and make fun of their Gold Gym's wifebeater tee and Zubaz pants. After that, he took his 'lady friend' with the fishnet stockings, heavy mascara and what appeared to be an adam's apple and went their way to his hotel room. I challenge. Do a frame-by-frame when the animated gif loops back to the beginning. Frame 28 or so, it looks like he hit his head. Frame 29, its clear he did. 2 frames later or so, his left hand is in view with his face still looking down, 1 frame later, his fist is plainly in view with him putting his body into the swing. I havent read through all this, but just getting the basic facts, and what few posts I've read are siding with jericho, I wonder how this would play out here, if Hogan did this, since he catches a lot of Hell here, while Jericho is well liked.
