This is my first draft of ... draft picks. I'll probably change this around tomorrow, but just going by the 12 Superstars number reported by PWInsider, I'm going with these:
RawWWE Champion Triple HTwo men need to switch. Either Orton and Edge, or HHH and Cena. Well to move Orton and continue the current feud you'd have to shift Rhodes and Dibiase as well, and Batista would have to appear on Smackdown frequently and without Mania on the horizon it just seems like a lot. So I say HHH's time on Smackdown is over and he moves back to the Mothership.
United States Champion MVPHe suffered through the losing streak, got a face turn, a belt, and came out smelling like roses. With Rey's run on Raw being pretty damn forgettable, I say he goes back to his old home and MVP gets his shot on the big stage, bringing the US Championship to Raw for the first time.
Big ShowUnless they plan to feud Show and Edge and turn one face, there seems to be little left for Show on SD. He's still a hot character, and there is still the Vickie/Show dynamic you can play off of on Raw. Edge loses his wife, Show picks her up on Raw.
John MorrisonWent back and forth on this one deciding whether it's SD or Raw for John, and Raw won out just based on SD getting too many picks if I throw him in too. The time has come to split the two and see what they can do. Morrison in my mind, and I believe WWE's if I had to guess, the true star waiting to break out from the team, and as we saw with Kofi if WWE likes you enough you can go straight to Raw for your singles push. He'd benefit from singles on SD, but Raw looks to be the place.
UndertakerRey last year was one of two guys who needed a change desperately. Well, that hasn't been a slam dunk, but I don't see how Taker can't be. It's been years, and the time has come for Taker to get on the main show again. Especially seeing how his career HAS to be winding down. Plus the potential is now there for Undertaker/Shawn II. Maybe at Summerslam?
SmackdownWorld Heavyweight Champion John CenaIf HHH goes to Raw, the other World Champion has to come to Smackdown. He's WWE's biggest name, but his main storyline is waiting for him on the brand, as are some fresh opportunities. Jeff vs. Cena, perhaps Punk in the future (list spoiler).
Intercontinental Champion Rey MysterioAs was said above, if one title changes then the other must as well. Raw has been a dull dud for Rey. Maybe Smackdown is what it takes for him to showcase himself properly. More in ring time and all that.
Chris JerichoJericho proved himself 100% on Raw this past Summer and Fall as the World Heavyweight Champion. He took his step back after the title program came to an end and wrestled with the legends, and now it's time for him to get right back in the main mix. By the end of 2009, hell, by the Summer, Chris Jericho is your World Heavyweight Champion on Smackdown.
ChristianWWE subtly brought him back in to the fold on ECW, and now that everyone knows he's back (and that ovation at Mania didn't hurt) it's time for a move up. Smackdown is the place, what with potential feuds with Jericho and Edge just waiting in the wings.
CM PunkNot a ton of reason behind this, other than just a gut feeling. He spent last Summer on ECW/Raw with the MITB, so this time he's on SD with it. Plus on this show he can display his tremendous in ring talents more effectively. Later on, CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho for the World Title ... think about that.
ECWMr. KennedyInjury prone, still yet to truly prove himself .... maybe it's time for a step back and for Ken to get back to basics. At least if he disappears with ANOTHER injury on ECW no one will notice. If he's healthy and good to go in a year, ship him back.
Umaga*shrug* Doing jack crap elsewhere, give ECW a monster and turn him face. Give Swagger a beast to deal with.
Maybe some of those are more hopeful than accurate (though I don't see any as UNLIKELY per say), but if this were to happen I'd look a LOT more forward to Smackdown than Raw every week. A Championship picture with Cena, Edge, Jericho, Jeff/Matt Hardy, Punk, Christian, even Rey at some point if it came to it? Shelton as a LONG shot? Good times man, good times.
