I don't remember why this feud started, and why The Big Bossman was so evil towards The Big Show. I know about The Big Show's dad dying, but it seemed like they were feuding before that. I certainly don't understand why The Big Bossman was acting so evil.
Does anyone remember?

I don't care what anyone else says, but those two were so entertaining, despite such an awful presence, that I'd rank the feud as a Top 10 of the Attitude Era. They really sold the absurdity and provided some of the most comical moments of that era.
I mean, they even used the Bluesmobile...

I think they were just trying to take everything they'd done in the Bossman/Al Snow feud further to a completely ridiculous level. Bossman had become crazy enough to murder someone's dog and feed it to them, so what else could he do to top that?
And I personally loved every minute of it... the whole thing was so ludicrous, but I still couldn't tell if I was supposed to take it seriously or not.

I only have one thing to say:
"Hey Paul Wight! You're a nasty bastard, and your mama said so!"

That feud could be considered one of the Definitions of pure Wrestlecrap. Sure it was tasteless, ludicrous and it didn't lead to much. But damn was it entertaining. The poem Bossman read on Raw after Shows dad died will always have a special place in my heart.

What I want to know that was never explained is. How can The Big Bossman do all those horrible things to Big Show, when 9 years earlier, Bobby Heenan was tormenting his mom? Kayfabe of course.

I just love that they have Bossman reading the poem as one of the highlights of Raw on their 3-Disc 15th Anniversary collection of Raw.

I loved it for the gleeful cruelty on display. Bossman's poem was hilarious.

I certainly don't understand why The Big Bossman was acting so evil. Does anyone remember? Bull Buchanan helped Bossman beat the Rock in a number one contenders match on RAW in a legit shocking moment. Since it was sorta akin to say, Cena facing Carlito now for a shot at the title and somehow Carlito wins and gets the shot. As for why Bossman was such a dick, his character at the time was sorta like that, established by the Pepper business, so it made sense. The actual feud always struck me as the type of thing that they knew was going to be awful if it wasn't over the top so they purposefully hammed it up for entertainment value and made it completely absurd.

Is it possible that someone could make me an av of Big Show riding his dad's casket from that video link in this thread?
I would be eternally grateful.

I wish I could find a transcript of the Bossman's eulogy speech. "If I had a son who was as stupid as you, I'd wish for cancer, so I could die too."

I couldn't find the appropriate link on YouTube, but my favorite part of this fued actually happened a year or so later. Kurt Angle was fueding with Big Show, and he went to the Big Boss Man to enlist his assitance. The exchange went something like this.
Angle: You hate Big Show, too, right?
Boss Man: I hate him so much I stole his dead daddy's casket and drove it down the street with Big Show hanging on top!
Angle: O.......k........

Tasteless greatness personified. My sides hurt from laughing at this when it first aired. 10 years later, it's still great.

Huh? I thought Buchanan came in around 2000? Actually, yeah you are right. I was confusing him with someone else. It was Prince Albert that helped Bossman beat Rock on RAW. You can see why I could confuse him with Bull Buchanan. I cant remember if that actually ever went anywhere or they teamed at all as a result, though. Edit: I found a match on the Smackdown after where the announcers mention it. Albert is at ringside for Bossman, so they must have had some sort of tenuous team up. I believe this is the first thing Big Show did to really spark the feud as well, when he comes out to save Rock from a post match beat down.
