This thread does contain spoilers. If you read this thread and find out something that you don't want to know, don't blame me.
As the last set of Impact tapings show, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley will be in the finals of the X-Division Title Tournament. That is the spoiler. Here is what I think will happen...
The match will go somewhere between 15 and 20 minutes. A good length to get both competitors tired, etc... Shelley wins the match and the belt.
Then as Shelley is recovering and taking his belt, Homicide cashes in his Feast Or Fired Title Match and, after everyone being reminded how disrespectful Shelley has been for months, 'Cide wins the X-Title.
Now yes, this is a heel maneuver. And yes, three days earlier on Impact we will see the same damn thing. But on my one mile walk to work the other day, I was able to put this together.
What does everyone else think?

*Strokes Goatee*
More fuel to fire of Shelly's heel machine.

Hopefully not.
I would probably start watching more if Shelley got a decent X-Division run.

Maybe its me but, I see them using this as a way to split the MCMGs. When I have watched (which I admit, isn't too regular right now) it seems like Shelly is the more heelish/dickish of the two. I could see him cheating to win and splitting the team up.

i think sabin's winning it clean, leading to him going face and shelley going heel, seeing as shelley's been leading the bitching and moaning, and sabin's been keeping his head down and doing the work, but shelley's been getting all the attention. that'd be what i'd do, anyway.

If they split up the guns... I'll be remotely perturbed

A pox on all of you who want Smelly Shelley as champ. A Pox, I say! HAIL SABIN!

I see it going the way that the original poster says. If not that, I think that Shelley and Sabin will "pull a DX" and have one of them let the other one win, only for Foley to come out and say that since that is a disgrace, he is demanding that the winner face the newly re-hired Christopher Daniels for the title, who wins, and goes onto establish himself as a member of the Frontline.

I'd like to see Shelley get the title, the Guns break up and then feud. Which leads to Sabin getting it back. I think a nice, drawn out feud between those two would help get some prestige back to the X Title. And I always liked Sabin as champ pre-Guns. Either way, I'll be happy.
Since, why keep them together if they're never going to get the Tag Titles?

You know what would be great, and totally in line with how the guns are going lately?
Finger. Poke. Of. Doom.
Just to stick their noses in the face of TNA officials (and Mick Foley).

Shelley poking and Sabin over selling would be truly amazing. It'd also be kind of cool to have them start off doing that, but before the 3 count, Sabin kicks out. And Shelley is all "What the hell?" Then they try again and he kicks out again. And Shelley gets pissed so he decks Sabin for real. Then they have an actual match for it.

Yeah I was thinking at first with the finger poke of doom thing, but then I thought this could lead to the Guns splitting up.
However I could see Homicide cashing in his briefcase and make it a triple threat match.

That's exactly where I thought this was going to go, with the finger poke of doom, or the HHH vs. HBK match for the European Title from RAW in 1997. Man, it would be fun to read the reaction to that.

This is one of the only times the Fingerpoke ending wouldn't bother me, though I would rather it'd be the end after a few exchanges.
They could explain it without devalueing the belt by having Sabin say he has held the belt before, it was Shelley's time to shine, and that he valued the partnership more.
Makes enough sense for TNA, anyhow.
