I know what WWE is trying to do here, they obviously don't want to pay the royalties to the band that created Eye of the Tiger, and they've done this plenty of times before (Anyone remember some of th past ECW DVD releases???). It's not re-writing history, but I wouldn't put it past them.

I still don't, and never have understood why they can't keep in the music that was used at the time. It's not like it's the PPV theme music pumped directly in, nor are they selling an album of songs. It's footage of a historical event where music was played over the PA system. They're not selling the music, they're selling the wrestling show. These bands shouldn't be getting royalties from that in the first place.

What's worse? Dubbing over music or Todd Grisham time traveling to ring announce for Gary Michael Capetta in 1990? For me, equally annoying but the latter irks me even more.

I have Great American Bash 1990 from WWE 24/7 and sure enough, Gary Michael Cappetta is gone and Grisham swooped in and stole his thunder.

They dubbed over Cappetta because of the entrance music which they couldn't dub over without taking out Cappetta ring introduction, so it has nothing real to do with Cappetta. Unlike dubbing over Michael Buffer, that has to do with him and royalty issues. When the WWE used "Real American" for Hogan's AWA music, I am surprised they didn't dub in Dusty Rhodes WWF theme song for his NWA entrances. Imagine Dusty coming out to "Common Man" at Starrcade 1986 or Great American Bash 1988.
