QUICK NOTE: I work pretty much every day this week except Christmas and the hours are literally morning hours one day, night the next, and so on. I don't want to go on break on this segment yet, but I might be off a bit getting new nominations up this week.
Last Time: Dave Chappelle>+21
And now for a group whos popularity has gone cosmic since we last ran this series:
STRONG LANGUAGE WARNING!!!
NOTE-This is NOT just for "I'm On A Boat" or the various other vids they have done. On the same token, this is also not just for Andy Sandberg or what the other members have done OUTSIDE of TLI. Sandberg MIGHT be nominated in the future.
The Lonely Island (TLI) is an American comedy troupe composed of Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone, and Andy Samberg, best known for their musical parodies. The group is from Berkeley, California, and is currently based in New York City. The group began creating live comedy skits in junior high and continued to do so, expanding its repertoire to comedic shorts, music parody (both songs and videos), and one full-length television pilot, before coming to the attention of Lorne Michaels of Saturday Night Live (SNL). Once on the show, they wrote "Lazy Sunday", a better-produced music parody video much like the group's previous work. It became an instant Internet success, and led to the creation of similar 'digital shorts' which were also aired on Saturday Night Live. "Dick In A Box", "Jizz In My Pants", "Like a Boss" and the Grammy-nominated "I'm On A Boat" have subsequently had huge success both on the show and on the Internet and prompted the recording and release of an album, Incredibad, which has seen the group move in a more musical direction.
In August 2007, the group premiered its first feature film, Hot Rod.

Rules-
The idea is very simple. I will (at least make an attempt to) post a TV Show, a movie, a comedian, or something of another ilk each day. I will also provide a description ala wikipedia and a youtube link to a clip should one be available. All you need to do is simply vote whether you believe the item is funny or not. If you vote "funny", the item will gain 1 point. If you vote "not funny" the item loses a point. The total score at the end of the voting period will determine where that item is on the leaderboard. After 20 days, I will then crown champions for each subject (TV Show, Movie, Comedian, Other), an overall champion (highest score of all) and an eternal jobber (worst score of all). We will continue to run the thread, but we will keep track of what items we think are the funniest in each subject.
One of the changes I made at the end of the first run was to solve the problem of people unsure of where to vote, and to make the votes of the major fans/haters of a show count more than the votes of a casual viewer.
I have now added a "middle ground" vote. This way you can participate in the voting even if you have no idea what is being nominated. The catch being that no points will be added or subtracted.
I have also added "Hilarious" and "Horrible" to the mix. This will add and subtract 2 points from an item, respectively.
Due to these changes, I will add that I am NOT going to continue the current leaderboard and that I am starting completely fresh with a new one. If you want to nominate something that was nominated the first time around, that is perfectly fine.
One other thing I allow is the nomination of items from you, the wrestlecrappers. If you shoot me a PM of something you want nominated, I might possibly put it up, provided it follows a few ground rules (more info below). I will say that spamming me with the same nomination will pretty much ruin your chances of it getting a shot, and so will being a jerk if your nomination isn't ran. I do not play favorites with nominations, not by item nor the users that submit them, I nominated several items by reader request that I absolutely despised the last time around and left off several things I would have put at the top of the list.
