This is AWESOME~! ;D Has anybody else seen it? Who are the wrestlers involved? The only one I recognise is "the booker", who is seemingly Dusty Rhodes. Who is doing the voice-over? I recognise his voice. He's great, by the way. Also, one for the UK members, wasn't this shown over here on Channel 5 directly after WCW Worldwide in 1999? I have a vague memory of this.

I think the booker was actually Harley Race.
And one of the guys was one of the Pitbulls. Am I right?

It doesn't take a genius to see they're stomping when they punch. They're stomping when they kick.

The only things I didn't know/never had thought about before was: the spring under the ring & the mic under the ring.
But now having seen them....it makes perfect sense.
So is there more than 5 parts?

according to IMDB, Colossus is Pitbull #2, the All-American Boy is Mike Modest, and Brute Force is Pitbull #1

The VO guy is the Cat from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. That's the guy! Knew I knew him. ;D The Booker is Harle Race. Really? It sure looks like Dusty... So is there more than 5 parts? There's the the first part in my original post, and then four other parts... Part 2.Part 3.Part 4.Part 5/Last Part.

Just so you know, not all rings have a spring under them. Some do, but some don't.
And in my 7 years on the indy scene I have yet to see a mic under the ring, unless that's where a wrestler dropped it. Than again it could just be a WWE thing.

I could never work out if I loved or hated that show. ;D Did you used to watch it much, Cactus? If so, what did you think of it...

That, and WWE Sunday Night Heat on Channel 4, tided me over when I didn't have Sky. I loved every aspect of it. The commentary, the 'Batman' way of cutting out weapon shots, everything. I'd still rather watch my old tapes of it (yes, I still have them!) than anything being put out by any wrestling company at the moment. Pure nostalgia.

Why did Channel 5 do the "Batman censoring"?
That always baffled me. Why didn't they just cut to a shot of the crowd, or something?
It seemed to me that Channel 5 hated the show. I remember the continuity announcers used to take the piss out the out show. Yes, they used to take the piss out of a show on THEIR OWN CHANNEL.

Just so you know, not all rings have a spring under them. Some do, but some don't. And in my 7 years on the indy scene I have yet to see a mic under the ring, unless that's where a wrestler dropped it. Than again it could just be a WWE thing. I'll add that I went to quite a few OVW shows here (while they were under the WWE banner). If you got there early, you'd see the ring being put together. There wasn't really much to it. For the benefit of anyone that hasn't seen a ring constructed I'll explain it. The guardrail was only about 4 feet from where they were setting it up, so you could just go right up against it and get a close look at everything they were doing from start to finish. Four metal bars were fitted together in a square to make the ring shape first, each with a leg on one end. When that was set up it looked like a metal bedframe. Next a bunch of wood planks were placed in the frame going from one side to the other to create the floor to the ring. After that a surprisingly thin mat was placed over the wood. (I was really surprised by just how thin it was the first time I saw them set it up. I was expecting something in thickness similar to those blue wrestling mats/kindergarten sleeping pads. Actual thickness was perhaps half that). It looks to me like if you take a bump in one of those rings, the shock is absorbed more by the wood creating the floor of the ring bending some than it is by that thin cushion. Square canvas thrown over the mat and hooked into place, looks like it basically just sits on the pad though. Then the fringe was hooked on that hangs to the floor from the mat, with the OVW logo and stuff on it. Then the 4 ringposts are latched on to the frame of the ring, then the ropes are latched on, then the turnbuckles are tossed on...and that was basically it. Funny thing was after the OVW house shows the wrestlers would help take the ring down. Since many of those that I went to would be followed by them airing a WWE PPV on a big projection TV, most of the folks that came would still be around...waiting for that to come on 30 minutes later or whenever. Was kinda funny seeing wrestlers that JUST had a feud match not 15 minutes ago helping each other with taking down the ringposts while joking about stuff...with the fans just sitting in their seats 10 feet away. I think wrestling might be fake guys! =P

I still don't buy the identities of all the people they say are who they are. Honestly to me that doesn't look anything like Michael Modest. Around then physique wise for him he seemed a lot bigger than that.
Also the booker I'm still not completely convinced is harley race. He is the most likely candidate but I also think there is a good chance that it could be Dusty Rhodes. I think it is more likely Race but it is still hard to tell.

If there was a mic under the ring wouldn't we hear the conversation between the wrestlers and/or the ref when they were in a rest hold or something?
