You have a point. Cena doesn't have that 1 big rival. Hogan had Savage & Flair. HHH & HBK had each other. The Rock had Austin. Undertaker had Mankind & Kane. Cena is closest to having a rivalry on that level with Edge. Those 2 need a few more epic matches & storylines and they'll be there.

This. And even so, a lot of people (myself included) think Cena should've stayed in the midcard.

The Edge feud? No way broseph. It started out nicely with the cashin in but IIRC that feud was dead and treading water the moment Cena showed up in a spaceship and defeated Edge. ........What?

People say Edge, but Cena's rivalry with Edge lacks something that the others don't: that personal element.
HHH vs. HBK: The story of the Kliq. HBK was forced out of action and left HHH hanging. When HBK came back 4 years later, HHH wanted HBK to be his wingman this go-round. HBK wasn't having that. That led to an epic match at SummerSlam in 2002. Also, they dueled in 3 Stages of Hell & Hell in a Cell. The story of that feud was great. HBK beating HHH in the 1st Elimination Chamber to win the WHC was a moment for the ages.
Hogan vs. Savage/Flair: All I have to say is Ms. Elizabeth. Randy was so possessive of her and that turned into hatred towards Hogan. The Mega Powers were THE thing to see in pro wrestling. The split made for one of the best feuds in wrestling history. Hogan & Flair have been the subject of debates for decades. "Who is better?" "Who meant more to their company?" Loser Leaves Town Matches...The "Real" World's Champion coming to the then-WWF. It's one of the ultimate power struggles in wrestling: Hogan & the WWF vs. Flair & NWA/WCW.
Taker vs. Mankind/Kane: Undertaker & Kane, named after the evil, murderous brother in the Bible, was the best "Brother vs. Brother" storyline in wrestling history, IMO. Undertaker refused to fight Kane until Kane pretty much forced his hand. Mankind was able to steal Paul Bearer, Taker's long-time friend & manager, right out from under him.
Rock vs. Austin: This spans 3 Wrestlemanias: 15, 17, & 19. Austin drove a monster truck over one of Rock's cars. Austin beat the ever-loving Hell out of Rock at 17 with the damndest chair assault I've ever seen in pro wrestling. Rock defeated Austin in Austin's last official match on the grandest stage of them all.
I could go into Flair vs. Sting, but these posts have a character limit.
Cena/Edge just isn't at that level yet. Sure, Edge went to Cena's home and slapped his dad, but even that isn't enough. It wasn't personal enough for long enough to have the same effect as the others. It's still the frontrunner for Cena's career.

I meant the bit with the Spaceship He means that big superstructure stage Cena came in on for that match. Great way to telegraph who was going over IMO.

Flair/Hogan was pretty underwhelming considering they basically just fed Flair to Hogan.

I think Cena could have made it to the main event anyway but when they pushed him to it back in 04 it was way too early. Eventually I think it will get to a point where people even his most loyal fans will get tired of him and start booing him just like they did Hogan in the early 90s which will force them to finally turn him heel.

You know what it is? We don't know anything personal about Cena.
CM Punk vs. Hardy could easily become Hogan/Savage or HBK/HHH, just because there are a lot of legit personal elements at play. Straight Edge vs. Living "in the moment". Preaching from the apple box vs. atoning for past sins. Stuff like that.
Just bringing your dad won't do it. Cena needs someone who can bring out something deeper in him. I could see it with edge, if Cena decided to really push the "Marine" thing maybe, by talking about the disicipline he's had to have to get where he's at vs. Edge's lack of discipline, but being more cunning.
Brains vs. Brawns. Skill vs. strength.
Something like that - (I don't know really)

So you're saying that I just have to like everything I see and agree with how the business is handled?
