Even if you don't like Orton... WTF?Cena is what we call the best of the best. He has his fans and they love his matches. But that is stonking ridiculous. Also, their segment on RAW was AWFUL, imo, and this is coming from a huge fan of both guys.

Topless robot?
Edit:OK, you fixed it. Good
Maybe Cena has an adamantium skull now, and the Punt has no effect?

They explained it by saying Orton didn't have the full force on it thanks to Cena and the STFU as well as the knee drop to the chair.

I was OK with it at HIAC. They played up the entire match that Orton's leg was killing him, and they continued saying over and over that "thank god Orton couldn't get full impact with it like he usually does, or Cena wouldn't be getting up.". This is literally the only time I'd be cool with someone no selling the punt. He was already choked out, and the 50% punt was just enough to finish him off.

I haven't seen the match, but from the reports I read it was explained that Orton's leg had been worked on and injured. Thus the force of the punt was still powerful enough to knock him out long enough to pin him. But it wouldn't be enough to concuss him or fracture his skull (in kayfabe) like it has with most victims.
So this wasn't totally a case of SuperCena, although the promo segment last night really wasn't good at all.

Shouldn't we just have had an RKO or something?

Shouldn't we just have had an RKO or something? Funniest thing about that is the fact that in the Hell in the Cell recap/order-the-replay! package, they made it seem like Orton won with the RKO. But on the topic, this isn't the first time the punt's concussive effects have been undersold. The same thing happened at WM 24 with HHH (and, I believe, with Cena at Backlash the next month) and nobody really seemed to make that big of a deal with it. And the punt was established by then, to boot (no pun intended). That said, I think they're trying to transition the punt as something more like a finisher than a angle-building career-killer. I liken the punt to Kurt Angle's heel-hook ankle lock. When he just had the ankle lock locked in, you still had a chance. But when he got on the mat and locked his legs around the ankle, you were DONE (except in extraordinarily rare cases like Brock Lesnar). Randy Orton has the RKO, and it's possible on rare occasions for someone to kick out. But when Randy hits the field goal, you're FINISHED. No ifs, ands, or asses. If nothing else, when/if somebody kicks out of the punt, it's going to be one hell of a huge deal.

I was thinking the same thing as I was watching. Ortons nearly killed people with his punt o' death yet Cena's up 10 seconds later with a stupid look on his face.

As someone else said, HHH no sold the punt before.
Also, RVD got punted before and wasn't sent into time out. Although the punt hadnt been established yet at that point.
It wasn't so much Cena no selling the punt that bothered me as much as Cena no selling the entire HIAC match. I am starting to loathe John Cena as a performer just because the guy doesn't know how to sell during a match and outside of the ring WWE never wants to portray him as hurt or beaten up...not even for one week.
I mean think about that. HE WRESTLED A HIAC MATCH AND NO SOLD IT.
Satans structure my ass.

Pretty much everyone no sold the HIAC matches outside of Legacy.
Orton looked pretty chipper and DX was dancing and playing around like nothing happened.

They said Orton couldn't deliver a powerful enough kick to take him out because Cena destroyed his right leg

It was just glaringly obvious with Cena to me, considering he took a beating and got up making a sad puppy dog face. Then the next night showed no signs of damage. As usual.

Eh, didn't bother me. Not like it was a particularly brutal match, and the punt's been no-sold before - as mentioned Trips (multiple times) and RVD and hell, Orton no-sold it when Triple H did it to him at Mania this year.

Wrestlemania 24, he took the punt and was just fine and that one was full blast.
