Would he be a big star in ECW or at least a decent midcard who isn't getting the Conway pop? I seriously think he would of been a ECW upper midcarder since his Conway gimmick has a lot more personality then some guys on ECW these days and it's one of the best theme musics ever!
PLUS HE WRESTLED WITH SUNGLASSES!

He'd have gotten less of a push if anything. Since just getting a mild push on Raw for a few weeks like he did got him bigger wins than he would in the month or so of jobber fighting and random no story feud he'd get before dying off like DJ Gabriel or Tyler Reks.

Just Look At Me is a hilarious entrance theme because it basically comes across as "You shouldn't care about this guy."
As much of an ironic smark favorite as he is around here, he wouldn't have gotten far with the exact same gimmick and music.

I will never understand why they had a bright idea to push a guy by dressing him like Mr. Slave and giving him Randy Newman knockoff music as an entrance. Just f***ing terrible.

I feel bad for the guy, he was pretty talented as far as in ring ability, just got boned by that theme.

As it was, his music just absolutely killed the crowd. There was nothing wrong with Conway as a performer.

There is no variable that can change Conway. He could have debuted at Wrestlemania 3 and trounced Hogan, it just doesn't matter.

He would've been Zach Ryder without Hardbody Harrison's tights

Just seemed really bland to me, even without the music.

There were way more problems with Conway than just his music.
Generic character, unremarkable on the mic. Capable in the ring but thats it.
He was simply average in every respect. Nothing stood out about him. Buff Bagwell with less charisma and overness.
The music certainly did not help, but a good performer doesn't need to rely on the music they come out to or the color of their trunks to get over.

Yeah I think a bit too much emphasis is put on the music instead of the question I wondered from the day he debuted the new look/music of "What in the hell is this supposed to be?" I mean, he's the 'Con-Man' but since when do conmen dress like gay bikers? It just didn't add up!

Like I said, he had problems with both his music AND his gimmick (or lack thereof).
He didn't look like anything (maybe a vaguely gay biker) and never got to talk. He couldn't develop any kind of character.
If he had stayed a French symphatizer, he would've probably gotten some kind of reaction, at least as a generic anti-American heel.

That's a live version, right? It sounds like it, but when did they change Buff Bagwell's titantron and theme song? He wasn't with them for THAT long...

Not to mention he wasn't involved in any storylines, other than that sad attempt as the legend killer.
