I dug Warrior the wrestler. Unfortunately, Warrior Hellwig the loon and his queering don't make the destrucity work is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of him.

WWE's target audience is kids? Well, the Warrior character fits the mold perfectly to attract younger fan attention. Purely financial reasons on WWE's part methinks.

Hellwig would probably try and sue them for it too, the loon.

Some of you need to give Warrior more credit. I think you needed to be a fan back then to appreciate him. After Wrestlemania VI, he was the biggest thing in wrestling, bigger than Hogan. It seemed like he would be the star of 90s, as Hogan was of the 80s. Agreed. Warrior may look silly to some today but back in the day he was a icon like it or not. He was a huge name and still is.

He looks like he's drawing a 7 there. Thank you, that was the joke. Really? I thought that it was the fact there's about four and a half people in the crowd.

Just because the WWE made Warrior look bad on a DVD does not mean he was that bad because if he was he would had never hit big.

Just because the WWE made Warrior look bad on a DVD does not mean he was that bad because if he was he would had never hit big. Well, they basically threw him to the wolves on the DVD because he refused to have any part of it. What we ended up with is a smear DVD that refused to acknowledge the fact that his promo style really fit his character, he was way over with the crowd, and he left the industry with his health, pockets full of money, and head held high.

Ya know what's awesome...the page says Oh yeah....as it opens.... Now the Warrior one needs a four minute run-on sentence sound clip. "Should I lay on the lawn and let them run over me with lawnmowers?". THAT'S what should open the page.

He left the industry after having what is regarded as one of the worst matches in history with Hogan

Could have not said it better myself. Some may dislike him now but back then everyone was cheering him. If you ask any old school fan who is not a fan today to name some of the best wrestlers from the 90s he will be one.

I can't deny this, but I can't say WWE didn't have every right to release that DVD either. By all accounts he was a money-grubbing douche with a beyond conceited mindset, who did everything from injuring people, to violating the drug policy, to no-showing...the list goes on and on. When you have that much dirt on you and so few people actually like you, you can count on being "berried" as they say. With that said, I have no idea what DVD you guys are watching. In my copy they put him over like mad, stating the huge ticket sales, the charisma, and all that - but making sure to point out that backstage issues almost always got in the way. Hell, at one point Vince even says that Jim Hellwig can be a decent, funny and warm guy; but sadly a guy who rarely showed that side of himself.

He is put over in the DVD at the same time is knocked quite a lot. He is knocked so much more then put over. Warrior in my view had the right gimmick at the right time and he was the right guy.

Vince actually sounded a little regretful on that DVD. It seemed like he once considered Jim Hellwig to be a friend, and was glad that Hellwig let him see the other side of himself. But the wrestlers themselves, it seems, all hated him. Their descriptions make it sound like he was stuck up and never went out for beers with theman never travelled with them, and just viewed them all as beneath his level.

I feel Vince did consider him a friend and really helped him gain a career and in return Warrior messed Vince around. I mean to be fair Vince gave him many chances.

I seem to recall tha Hellwig has every so often said he had a rough childhood; that he was bullied a lot and turned to delinquincy. And that he claims getting into working out and bodybuilding changed his life. I think it is fair to say that for some people, having a rough childhood leaves them with a chip on their shoulder, and a feeling of entitlement-that the world owes them somehow. That is ptobably part of what goes in in Warryah's head.

If WCW did a great job with Warrior I think that would have been a huge kick in the face for Vince.
