Going back a bit... Lance Storm and Justin Credible as the Impact Players.
Really and truly, there's no way that should have worked. But it did.
Oh, and while we're on the subject of classic ECW, I'm throwing Amish Roadkill and Danny Doring out there too.

Going back a bit... Lance Storm and Justin Credible as the Impact Players. Although I would normally agree, over the years, Lance Storm has claimed that he had trained Justin Credible. I think that explains why they worked so well together - they already knew each other before they became tag team partners. On top of that, Lance Storm is one of those guys that would generally make a good tag team partner.

Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin. Charlie was much more of a 'ground' wrestler while Shelton was more well-rounded and with a distinct aerial style. Though I'm glad Shelton has had some singles success, I would have liked to see them continue on.

I think their peak was probably their post Team Angle days when they had the tag belt feud with Tajiri and Eddie Guerrero.

This this this. God I loved this team. It really means something when I've watched it a bunch of times and I still find it hilarious.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! That was the only time I ever enjoyed Randy Orton.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! That was the only time I ever enjoyed Randy Orton. Really? This team made me hate Edge instead lol. I guess it was doomed though because their music mash-up was BADDDDDDD! Anyways, I don't think Matt and Jeff count because they are brothers and grew up together. Unexpected chemistry? Kane and Undertaker. The Brothers of Destruction were amazing for two guys who were "fake" brothers. Also Batista and Rey are a pretty good team.

Billy Gunn REALLY got better in the ring during his tenure in the team, and Road Dogg became one of the best Midcarders to have Mic skills and Charisma.

I love tag teams where two partners already dislike each other. Cena/Orton, MVP/Hardy, and Angle/Benoit. I cant stand that. If they dont like each other theres no reason why they would win one match let along multiple tag matches and win a tag title over a well established experienced teams. And if they really don't like each other, why not just one guy clobber his partner and walk to the back on the first match and say "f*** it. I'm not teaming with him"?

"Flyin" Brian Pillman and "Stunning" Steve Austin.
Better known to geezers like me as the Hollywood Blondes. Who'd have thunk it, you know?

I have to go through some old WCW now, I haven't watched their matches in a very long time. I still like the Stungun as a finisher, too.

They do sometimes, but this is usually done with people who do not like to lose, so they won't give up, with their pride.

"The Real Double J" Jesse James & Rockbilly forming perhaps the most over tag team in wrestling history owns this entire thread.

Back in the day, hardly ANYONE expected Tully Blanchard to be able to step in and fill Ole Anderson's spot tagging with Arn.
The fact that he not only DID, but that he turned out to be a better fit for Arn than Ole, speaks VOLUMES about Blanchard's abilities.
