www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/10/21/hulk.hogan.book/index.htmlThe news story has a major revelation from his new autobiography- "My Life Outside the Ring" that MAY be considered a spoiler... if you count endings of autobiographies as spoilers. So I won't mention it here, but I'm sure others below me may.

If half of what he says about his depression is/was true, I hope he's found all the help he needs.

My immediate reaction to Hogan after reading that story: Be a man, Hulk. Pull yourself together and actually face your own problems.

My immediate reaction to Hogan after reading that story: Be a man, Hulk. Pull yourself together and actually face your own problems. Yeah, I'm thinking that this is a major selling point of the book. "Will I commit suicide? Will Linda beat Nick with a wine bottle? Buy the book to find out!" At least he didn't reveal that he also had sex with MacKenzie Phillips's dad.

Damn. I just guessed suicide and then I clicked on the link and ended up being correct. If it's true, I hope he's gotten himself together.

Oh god, he doesn't commit suicide at the end of the book does he?
Joked aside, potentially tragic stuff and while I doubt everything can be sunny I hope he's in a better place now at least. I am actually a bit interested in this book...if in part because Hogan's tall stories are so ludicrously entertaining.

Very nice, people. The man was hurting and in a dark place, and you all make fun of him and call him an attention whore. Classy. The fact of the matter is that Hulk Hogan is a very sad case. He saw his 20-year marriage crumble before his eyes, with who he thought was his soulmate taking all of his hard-earned money and spending it on some 19-year-old. At the time, he was also dealing with the incarceration of his baby boy, not to mention the stress and the problems associated with Nick Hogan's car accident. Also, Hogan's body aches and has seemingly fallen apart. I know that everyone copes differently with aging. Imagine that at one time, your body was your golden ticket, making you millions of dollars and now, the body and the fortune are gone within the blink of an eye. (Hogan looks to be in tremendous shape, but his knees, hips, back, and neck are all shot to hell.) I've seen/read of people killing themselves for much, much less, so this story may not be as far fetched as we think/hope.
I realize that Hogan may not have "teh workrate" so it is okay to mock everything about him at anytime around these parts, but show some compassion.

If this is all true, I hope he finds some peace of mind and gets his head together.
Having said that, I find this incredibly hard to believe, and knowing Hulk's tendency to "add color" to his stories, the truth is somewhere in the neighborhood of Flintstone Vitamines and Jolt Cola.

I realize that Hogan may not have "teh workrate" so it is okay to mock everything about him at anytime around these parts, but show some compassion. This has nothing to do with how good he can/could wrestle a match. This is about a guy who made more money than any of us will ever see, and pissed it away because he didn't take responsibility for his marriage and family, and is now apparently going out to the public saying "Look at me! I'm the victim here!" He's in a very difficult situation, yes, but he's not this innocent victim that everything happened "to," which is the picture he's apparently trying to paint. He was right there when his marriage was breaking down, and when his kids were out of control, where was their father? As a man who works hard every day to support his wife and child during a horrible recession and also works every day to make sure our home life is not dysfunctional, and also as someone who has never had Hogan's millions, I find it very hard to be sympathetic to his plight. I guess it's possible that his wife really is an out-of-control monster and his kids are the spawn of Satan, but in my opinion, it's a lot more likely that the man was at least part of the problem, so I find it hard not to put the responsibility for Hogan's marriage, Hogan's kids, and Hogan's life square in Hogan's lap.

I'm not saying that Hogan is 100 percent blameless in this thing. I just don't think he pissed away millions. Ric Flair pissed away millions with his ridiculous spending habits, multiple marriages, and living the Nature Boy lifestyle. I don't ever remember hearing any stories about Hogan pissing away money (I could be mistaken, though). Hogan didn't really get into the shape he's in now until his son's accident (and possible subsequent lawsuits)and his divorce, both of which have been a drain on Hogan's financial assets and those are things that can happen to any of us. Car accidents happen and ruin lives. Divorces happen and cripple people financially. I used the "workrate" thing to make a point. I've noticed that on these boards, if someone is regarded as a good worker, their word and their problems are take a bit more seriously than a guy like Hogan. The very first post under the original topic calls him an attention whore. The man has problems and I think that we shouldn't try to undermine them or make light of them, simply because it's Hulk Hogan.

Quit falling back on the same tired "workrate" argument, as it holds no water considering that Flair's currently under a lot of criticism here, and I would argue that he's having a rougher time than Hogan.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Linda file for divorce because Hulk was boning Brooke's friend who he's with now? Not that it makes Linda's f***ed up behavior look any better at all. I just want this clarified. Because if Hulk expected to stay married to Linda while he was getting another piece of ass on the side, I find the whole "suicide" thing even more ridiculous.

In fairness, Hogan was smarter with money than Flair was. He just married a gold digger and his son was an idiot.

From people who have reviewed this book, it's sounding like this one is just as much a book of fiction as his WWE-produced one.
