Yes. They've changed so drastically that the Attitude era makes no sense.

I was just thinking about this before, and I'm shocked that they haven't changed it a long time ago seeing as how (I believe) Vince was never too big on the Attitude stuff. I bet they would go with the one they used for Cena's "Word Life" logo, which was basically the classic logo minus the F. That (minus the actual Wrestlemania-esque Word Life logo). And with Cena as the top guy in the company right now, it would make sense.

Only if they get a good one because what's the point of change if your logo is now going to look like a bird crapped on pavement (WCW)

Yeah, I really wish they would. I've been hoping for that for years, but I don't see it happening simply because this one is so recognizable.

I seriously had NO idea. Never occurred to me. I felt like an idiot!

Vince not into the Attitude era stuff? The guy that dropped his pants, made dudes kiss his ass talked about his balls and wanted to do an incest angle with his daughter wasn't into the Attitude era stuff?

Yeah it baffles me too, but it's just something I've been speculating for a while now. Maybe he just went along with it all because it was making his company rich and famous. I'm not saying he hated it, but something tells me he wasn't a real big fan of it. Although that incest thing is questionable. Or maybe I'm just crazy.

I think he just wasn't big on the idea at first, then it caught on and he realized the potential, and it grew and grew.

No.
The current one works just fine, it's instantly recognisable and I think if the WWE attempted to create a new logo at this current time it wouldn't look all that good (I don't know why I just think it would be badly recieved).
The current one doesn't remind me of the attitude era because it's much more polished and clean whereas the attitude era WWF was a RAW design (bad pun very much intended). This one is, in my opinion, the perfect balance of mainstream edgy-ness that can still be used for a huge business like WWE and not look silly.

It blew my mind recently when I realized that the WWF scratch logo was only around for 4 years while the WWE scratch logo has been around for over 7 years now. I've gotten used to the name change but the logo still doesn't feel right and I definitely think they need a new one.

I'm a guy who's a huge logo buff, and I can say that, the WWF scratch logo wasn't ALWAYS the same. When it first debuted on RAW, on the stage near the curtain, it was really really messed up looking and slightly more raw looking. (once again, terrible pun) They used the New Generated WWF classic logo in the blue square at this time I believe, for like two RAW's i think. Then the bug in the corner switched to the scratch logo everyone knows, not the one that was near the curtain, but then, THAT logo too got fixed, but the classic WWF logo was still on the turnbuckles. Then the very first Unforgiven (April 1998), used the FIRST incarnation of the scratch logo that appeared near the entrance curtain as mentioned previously, and during this PPV, the old In Your House logo was the ring apron, and the classic WWF logo was still on the turnbuckles. Howabout that? I have no idea why they did this, it was just weird.

Never could think of the right way to say it, but that was perfect...
