There was one in the NWO match between Shane and Orton. That was an announce table. Orton superplexed Shane through a regular table. |

Tables have just a satisfying crunch that you kinda miss once in a while. Agreed. It's also nice they're relatively safe compared to most hardcore spots. |

You're not alone. Table spots are terribly overrated. Not if it is THE table from Sabu vs dont remember who ,match I've seen clips from that match (Courtesy of Botch-a-mania) and That table got some of the best pops of the match. |

You're not alone. Table spots are terribly overrated. They became overrated through massive, long-term overuse. I have a shoot that Terry Funk and Shane Douglas did talking about how Douglas and (don't know who) were in an ECW main event, and he went to Paul E. and convinced him to ban anyone else on the card from using a table for that night. He wasn't being a prima donna. He simply made the case that if a table spot was merely teased early on in the night, but the table was never used, and nobody else shed blood, then the crowd would be super-hot and super-pissed by the main event. So what WWE is doing is scaling back and making the table seem more special. Now, of course, everyone and their mother does ladder spots. But at least it's a step in another direction. And, to a lesser extent, they're doing this with chair shots, too. Like you said, table spot and chair shots were so grossly overused that we got desensitized to them. The only way to make them special again is to greatly scale them back. |

When Christian put Tommy dreamer through the table when they signed the championship match contract? Probably, which was after all all of about three or four months ago at the most. Honestly, am I alone in finding table spots incredibly boring? You see one, and short of something crazy on top of it that's pretty much all there is to see. I agree. Tables just lessen the impact of the fall, I never thought it looked that cool or that it would hurt any more than getting powerbombed in the ring or on the floor. |
