To be fair, though; Orton withstood the hold for something like ten or fifteen seconds. This was far from the I Quit match and I quite liked what they did - he'd been through enough so that he could hold on, but just not long enough. To be specific he actually tapped with about five seconds left on the clock, which I imagine felt like five minutes to him.
Thing is, Orton's not Steve Austin - and him holding on and withstanding the pain over such a long period 'just because' doesn't really make sense. I actually do think the match tonight put him over a tough S.O.B far more than match thusfar - and I think he's far and away from the straight up "chickencrap heel" days. I do think there's always going to be an element of that in him though, since it's just a character trait he has and fits the whole "voices" thing he's got going quite well.
Since he should now be away from Cena, I hope he has some good material to work with. I'm hoping some time is spent really giving the Legacy storyline a good finish.

Survivor Series.... Cena vs Orton in Looser Leaves the WWE Match. That will end in a double count out.

Hey, everybody. Just got home. I had a blast, and more importantly, so did my nephew. Here are some little notes on my first WWE PPV.:
The Good: -I ran into a buddy I hadn't seen since high school. -I got my Orton shirt. -Had awesome seats, about 10 feet away from a cameraman. -Saw Undertaker. -Saw Batista's heel turn. -Iron Man match was really good (besides the ending).
The bad: -Missed Christian and Burchill because I had to pee. -Predictable 7-Man tag ending. -My nephew pissed on me when Orton was coming out (He's 2). -Cena won again. Why trade the belt back and forth like this?
Had a ball. My nephew had a ball. Got some cool shirts and stuff. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good this PPV turned out.

I have to say this is the first time in awhile I enjoyed EVERY match on the card.
Morrison/Miz: This was a bit of a let down, but still good none the less. I'm glad Miz won because he needs it more in my opinion, though I would've preferd a sneaky finish.
Diva's Match: I lied it, only 2 or 3 botches and they weren't even that bad.
Fatal 4 Way: It wa only 10 minutes, but I thought this was really good, with everyone looking good, tons of nearfalls and finishing moves.
Batista Heel Turn: It was predictable when Taker just left, but it was well done, Tista looked liek the monster he should be, loved it. The thrown in the wall was SICK!
7on7 Match: Alittle slow at the star, but picked up in the middle and end. Triple H's 3 spinebusters were great, Hart Dynasty getting to hit there Hart Attack on Shawn, I was disapoint with the lack of Bulldog/Shawn hisdtory, JR woulkd have got that in there.
The finish was predictable, but well done. Show's KO punch on Trips was SICK!
Iron Man Match: This was GREAT f***ING GREAT! Great storytelling, great buliding up to big spots, just great. Orton facial expression through out the match were great, hell Cena's superman comeback was great. My MOTY for WWE or alteast up there with HBK/Taker

Thought the show was OK. Miz/Morrison was probably match of the night, four way after that. The Ironman had the chance to be great for me, but in a lot of ways they shot their wad in the first 20 minutes with EVERYTHING then kept playing catch up. Had the trademark Cena Superman comeback, but even then it was still holding on to some semblance of unpredictablility. But when the ref went down and Orton hit the RKO, I fast forwarded to the finish. It was over then. Three minutes to go and they totally gave away their finish. I wasn't expecting much from it, so that's probably why I'm not really disappointed. 7 on 7 was a real let down too, short of the finish with SD winning.
I dunno if this was better than HIAC, but I didn't think either was anything to write home abou.

So what happen to the line-up for Team Smackdown? I didn't see the ppv or the last smackdown, but what happen to Cryme Time, McIntyre, and Escobar?

I love how there was so much wailing and gnashing of teeth on WWEs part about Cena possibly leaving Raw forever, and he wins the title. If you didnt see that coming, you need your perscription changed.

I can understand McIntyre and Escobar being traded out for Matt Hardy and Finlay since they're bigger names, thus making the draw of the match bigger.

I wonder if they did it because of Shad being ill, and didnt want to take any chances on having to replace him at the PPV. Either way, Im glad they did it, the whole thing played out great.

I just realized Ziggler wasn't part of the 7 on 7 match either. I'm suprised they took him out of that match.
