"TO KNOCK TNA, OR NOT TO KNOCK TNA...." By Jim Cornette Summary: Jim Cornette, who has to be on his pills or something, because this blog doesn't sound like it was written by a crazy person, explains his version of why he was dismissed from TNA, and his relationship with our old friend Vince Russo. Link jimcornette.com/Commentary.htmlAnalysis: Nothing new here. JC doesn't like Russo, wishes TNA best luck in it's future endeavors. Basically confirms what we have suspected, he was on the Jarrett side of TNA, and fell with it. But he sounds happy.

I'm probably the rare breed that actually really likes Cornette but likes Russo as well and think both of their styles have a place in wrestling. Obviously, just not in the same company.

I am with you on that. I love Corny's booking style but, his characters lack while Russo can be the complete opposite.

Yeah if he can ever get out 1975. Cornette booking WWF(94-95), terrible, OVW boring, and SMW to hillbilly for my taste. I jst enjoy him as a character rather then booker.

I still say a 50/50 split of power between Cornette and Russo would be the perfect balance and likely lead to a damn good wrestling show. A hybrid of new and old ideas, checks and balances to hide each others flaws. Could be great

Same. I like Cornette (and I'm fond of a lot his non-wrestling rants), but his booking philosophy just won't work past the early '80s, and I'm glad they realized he couldn't co-exist with Russo's style.

Cornette may seem to have outdated views on wrestling at times, but some of his criticisms of Russo's booking were right on the money if you ask me. Especially things about gimmick matches on TV with no build, not getting people over, confusing the audience, etc. That whole section had the ring of truth.

Cornette's whole rant is nullified by the fact that the product has gotten better since he and the rest of Jarrett's cronies have been gracefully exiled.

I glanced over this, and I notice that Cornette is still bitter over Oklahoma . Good God, how long until he gets over this? A quick wikipedia search (granted not always the most reliable source) indicates that both Ferrara and Russo have appologized for the parody and that Jim Ross himself has buried the hatchet and put the incident behind him. It's been nearly a decade now, how long does Cornette intend to milk this?

Perhaps Russo's grand plan came to fruition. Perhaps Russo and Ferrara learned from their WCW mistakes. Perhaps Dixie lit a fire under Russo's ass and told him that they just let a walking Encyclopedia Britannica go to make him happy, so he better deliver or else. I'm not saying one way or another. I'm just saying that one is not proof of the other.

Russo was chosen over Cornette in TNA and the product improved dramatically (thus far). That's probably not a coincidence.

You know I'm usually a Corny fan but, TNA has been great so far, BFG seemed like a passing of the torch event, and he really needs to get his head out of old NWA/1970s/1980's way of doing things, its nearly 2010, I can only hope Ferrara and Russo have learned from WCW.

Hahaha, all these negative comments about Jim Cornette's personal character and booking philosophy, and all from folks that don't even know the man. Kinda funny in a weird way.

I've said it before, Cornette's the kind of guy I'd just wanna hang out with for like a week and do nothing but have him tell me about his various stories, exploits, and thoughts on wrestling thoughout his career.

If I were a billionaire I would give Cornette his own promotion just to watch it fail. I like him but he really is a couple decades behind in what he wants sometimes.
