Monty Brown. Pushed to the cusp and dropped for Christian, Joe and Angle to name a few. I never really saw Monty as being a heel champion, he didn't have the mic skills to be able to hold himself up as champ and had to rely on Jarrett and Christian to help him. He is one of the best strength based wrestlers of the decade, but a upper midcarder is where I always thought he belonged I respectfully disagree. I thought Brown was underrated in the ring and cut pretty good promos that were both interesting and entertaining. Granted, I wasn't watching on a weekly basis during Brown's time in TNA, but when I did see him, I wanted to see more. I'd love to see him back in TNA.

Lance Hoyt, Monty Brown, and Chris Harris before his gimmick was that of a complainer

My immediate reaction is Monty Brown. I thought he had the makings to be a star from the first time I saw him. It's a shame that not only was he a could-have-been in TNA, but he was also a could-have-been in WWE too if not for his personal situation that made him leave. I thought Curry Man was also a strong could-have-been. He was all set to win the world championship and take TNA to the promised land -- when he was fired. Thanks for the memories...

I would say Kid Kash could've been great. His temper got the best of him. He was that heel the X Divison really needed. Also I would say Low Ki could've been huge. I really felt the same way about Judas Messia he had a great gimmick. Dutch and Jeff ruined alot of TNA talent.
I think Dutt, Petey, Strong, and Aries were all victims of JJ's ego.

Besides the obvious Monty Brown... I thought Wildcat Chris Harris had main eventer written all over him from his singles run in 2004 till his feud with Storm. Hard to believe Braden Walker was the same guy. One of the few times people will totally back up WWE for dropping someone early on. Man, when he lost a step, he lost it big time.

I always liked Apollo but he had trouble in and out of the ring. Everything he did in the ring was so stiff and unfluent in the ring but he had a few good moves and had a good look
Siaki was very similar but had a little personality although most of it was being a ripoff of The Rock. Remember the match where his pants kept falling off, showing his thong? Yikes

Monty Brown should've won the world title at Final Resolution 2005, but Dusty and Jarrett kaboshed that. It's funny that you say that because I was thinking the other day that, in retrospect, that is probably the most disappointed I've ever been with wrestling. Seriously, that is the last time I completely marked out for a big 2 (WWE/TNA) match for a KAYFABE reason. I can't remember a time since then where I've actually counted with the ref and marked for every near fall. My friend and I were on our feet all the way through. And when Jarrett won, I was so pissed. Not like "Monty should have been booked to win" pissed, but like legit kayfabe, I was caught up in the storyline pissed.

I think upper management kept a lot of the X-Division guys down. For as much as I love Aries, he has no one to blame but, himself for his TNA run ending. He was more concerned with ROH than TNA to the point he ignored orders to be at a PPV early to avoid a blizzard and, was pimping ROH during a TNA fanfest he was a part of. Strong was a partner of Austin's in skipping the order to be a PPV early and, at that point in time, was no where near good enough to be pulling that crap.

I'm not trying to bicker or start a fight, but just state what my understanding of the situation(s) is. From what I've heard on the flight/blizzard fiasco, he still made it to the show on time, just wasn't there as early as they would have liked, but with plenty of time before the show started. My understanding of the pimping of ROH at the fanfest is just that it was here-say. From what I've gathered, it is rumored that he was wearing a ROH hat or shirt (I don't remember which) during the signings. If memory serves me well (which it may not), he denied it in an interview or it was reported that it was just an internet rumor and that there was no legit substance to it. I may be mistaken though.

Jason Freaking Cross!
The dude had one of the coolest finishing moves ever (Crossfire, a shooting star legdrop!), his flipping unprettier move, and one of the most crisp snap brainbusters I've ever seen. Plus, he would have been a great X-Division guy, but they never really did anything with him, and he was forgotten in a matter of weeks.

Hector Garza doesn't seem to have ever existed. He was involved in some car crime case and was never heard of again. Don't recall ever being excited by him but do know that TNA were keen on moving him out of the X-division into a more main event role at the time of his bye-byes.

Thinking of Kaz, his former tag partner Micheal Shane/Matt Bently could easily be the anti AJ of TNA. The guy was pretty much Shawn Micheals in a younger body, hell he was his nephew(kayfabe at least). he's Shawn's cousin, and its not kayfabe

I remember Siaki was clearly somebody TNA wanted to push but he always seemed to be missing a certain element and never quite clicked like he should have. His other kidney? (oooooooooooooh) (Seriousness: I respect the hell out of the guy for giving up his career so his brother could live. Don't know how many people would do that in his position.)

I still think that Rellik could have been something in TNA. He had a pretty unique look, a chilling theme, and a pretty fearsome aura about him. Then they decided to job him out in his first match AND they constantly refered to Rellik being Killer spelt backwards so much, thus making him into an utter joke. Not to mention when they let him cut that ridiculous promo on Eric Young about stirring martinis with his fingers or something like that.
