With the recent rise in TNA using pushing it's "homegrown talent" in regards to Styles, Hernandez, Abyss and others I got to thinking about those wrestlers that should be on that list, but for whatever reasons never got the oppotunity. The main two for me personally that come to mind are "The Ace In The Hole" Sonny Siaki, a exellent Samoan wrestler that had the look, the charisma and talent to easily be in the main event card of any show. (and while I'm at it, David Young deserved so much more than being Simon Diamond's lackey) And the second one is a name that gets thrown around a lot whenever the words wasted potential are mentioned and that is Lance Hoyt. The guy may have had the charisma of a fish, but damn that fish had some skills. And at one point in time Hoyt was one of the biggest faces in the company, with the fans making there own t-shirts for the guy! And instead of capitalizing on his excellent Gaulent for the Goal match he was involved in, with that breathtaking coast to coast he did on Abyss, he was shoved in pointless tag team after pointles tag team until he left for the WWE. www.dailymotion.com/video/xavv60_austin-aries-alex-shelley-vs-ron-kl_sportSo my question for you is this, which wrestler when you watched TNA did you think "This guy is easily gonna be holding the world title in a few years" but never got to that position?

Monty Brown. Pushed to the cusp and dropped for Christian, Joe and Angle to name a few.

I remember Siaki was clearly somebody TNA wanted to push but he always seemed to be missing a certain element and never quite clicked like he should have.

Monty Brown. Pushed to the cusp and dropped for Christian, Joe and Angle to name a few. I never really saw Monty as being a heel champion, he didn't have the mic skills to be able to hold himself up as champ and had to rely on Jarrett and Christian to help him. He is one of the best strength based wrestlers of the decade, but a upper midcarder is where I always thought he belonged

Monty Brown should've won the world title at Final Resolution 2005, but Dusty and Jarrett kaboshed that.

He was starting to show it before the unfortunate end of his ECW run and, had he not been yo-yo'd and flipped so much, he would have been that guy.

Another one here for Monty Brown, the 'E were right when they didnt think much of Christian in main events, and WAYYYY back in the early days of TNA, the Rainbow Express were quite over with the crowd!

I wasn't a huge fan of Siaki. His X Title run was the lowest point of that division from the weekly PPV days, IMO. Remember when he defended against Athena and Chris Vaughn?!
Trinity seemed like somebody who could really go far, but then she left for WWE and wound up retiring through injuries.
Frankie Kazarian also never really went as far as he should have, and now is trapped under a mask.

I always loved primetime/skipper. I know why he left and everything as well as his age, but that guy was a beast.

Thinking of Kaz, his former tag partner Micheal Shane/Matt Bently could easily be the anti AJ of TNA. The guy was pretty much Shawn Micheals in a younger body, hell he was his nephew(kayfabe at least). I think he's retired and is in the music bis now, but he was a brilliant heel and good face.

Monty Brown should be at the top of practically everyone's list. I hated the fact that he looked to be the guy to take the belt off Jarrett, then turned heel and joined Jarrett for no reason.

Sonny Siaki - I didn't care for him much. No moment really stand out with him. Even when he was trying to get sympathy with Pat kenny against racist Glenn Gilbertti and Johnny Swinger, I preferred to see the heels more than the faces.
David Young- He was honestly better in the comedy role than anything else in TNA.
Lance Hoyt - Agree. Also, His Sacrifice match was the first time he did it, and so much better than the others.
Monty Brown - Agree. Did think Final Resolution should have ended with the title changing hands.
Kaz - Not that bad. Still on the payroll. Had the big push before his departure, he did well for himself with the Suicide business, and it might lead to a return for him later with Homicide knowing who he is.
Michael Shane/Matt Bently - Dull. Honestly, the only reason he was over was because he had Traci Brooks jumping up and down with him on the way to the ring. His music was cool, though.

Its funny how, back in the day, Monty Brown took a lot of flack from TNA viewers.
I remember not being very high on him, until he went heel again and started working heel psychology. His title match against Christian I remember being very, very good.

Everything Monty did was quite awkward, whether on the mic or in the ring, but he had a weird sort of charisma about him. I don't know if he should have been the champion, but he definitely had a role.

Besides the obvious Monty Brown...
I thought Wildcat Chris Harris had main eventer written all over him from his singles run in 2004 till his feud with Storm. Hard to believe Braden Walker was the same guy.
