Since we did a threads about heels turns you felt were wrong or didn't understand(should've been one thread if you ask me). Lets talk about face turns. Here are some examples I can think of....
Randy Orton's 2004 Face Turn - Throughout the whole year, he was discrespecting legends, got insane amounts of heel heat and solidified himself as the future of wrestling. He faces Chris Benoit at Summerslam and wins the World Championship cleanly to much shock. Then the next night Evolution turns on him and we should feel sympathy for Orton? For those of you who may have forgotten, his face turn was somewhat hinted the night before when Benoit forced him to shake his hand after his defeat, but the way it was executed made no sense.
Jimmy Hart Managing The Mega Maniacs - For the past decade Hulk Hogan has been a real thorn in Hart's side. He even helped Earthquake put The Hulkster and the shelves. And Brutus Beefcake was another nemises of his and even cut his fair once, so why would he be opposed to Money Inc aggravating his facial injuries? Made no sense.
Mark Henry's Most Recent Face Turn - Defeat's Randy Orton and all of a sudden, the crowd loves him. The IWC support is even more puzzling, because I thought he was a no-talent hoss, now he's a charismatic teddy bear who controls the crowd?
Any you can think of?

Austin turning face right after the Invasion. Kurt Angle does a double-swerve, screws the Alliance, takes out the Alliance leader Austin during the match, and saves the WWF. Then the next night, Austin is the face kicking the crap out of him.
I hate to do this, but...
What?!

Yeah, I like how Austin tries to put the WWF out of business and the next night he's the golden boy.

A thousand times this. Had they put even half the effort in to Orton's face turn that they did with Batista's turn 6 months later, we wouldnt be talking about this

Austin Orton Cena Kane (first face turn should have been heel his whole career with mask on) Sid aligning himself with HBK at In Your House 9 for the 6 man tag match just over a year after Sid had gave HBK 9 power bombs on Raw only to be saved by Diesel Doink Jake Roberts Jerry Lawler more recently after a career as heel both in and out of the ring and being a big part of the heel scene in WWF mid to late 90;'s and a bit later on and during the attitude era being the heel commentator he just starts backing the faces for no apparent reason. Should have been kept heel

He just showed up at the end of Raw the next night and took the belt back from Flair. It was just for some reason the crowd popped huge for him.

Undertakers, he has never been as awesome and intimidating after yanking that chair out of Jake Roberts hands. 17 years of boredom.

It's almost as if they saw the live crowd cheer, Then thought they might as well. The whole thing was weird.

The obvious one that hasn't been mentioned is Lex Luger in 1993.
Some others:
- Greg Valentine in 91. He was pretty much a JTTS by this stage but why bother turning a guy who is guaranteed to get NO heat, and no face pops, face? Face Greg was no Koko B. Ware.
- The Horsemen in '93 (WCW). This was the bloody awful Flair, Ole, Arn & Paul Roma version. I can understand why Flair was a face on his return in '93 and we got a few great matches out of it (Vader) as well as a few you thought you'd never see (e.g. Flair vs. Rude), but why the hell reform the Horsemen as a face stable? Why would you waste Arn Anderson by turning him face? AND tagging him with Paul frickin' Roma AND jobbing them out to The Nasty Boys. Bizarre booking.
- Jimmy Hart in 1993 when Money Inc. nailed Beefcake's face. Come on Jimmy, you spent 15 years as a despicable heel manager but that is too much to take? Who thought it'd be a good idea for Hart to manage as face, let alone to manage Hogan or Beefcake?
- Any time HHH is a face.

'BOO THE MAN WHO HELPED THE WWF OVERCOME THE ALLIANCE AND PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS! YAY! AUSTIN'S HERE! THE MAN WHO BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF EVERYONE FOR ALMOST HALF THE YEAR ALONG WITH ALMOST RUN THE WWF OUT OF BUSINESS!'

The fact that the fans immediately started cheering Austin again with no real storyline justification suggests that turning him heel at 'Mania 17 in the first place was a badly miscalculated move.

what was so great about heel Doink? He was an evil, creepy clown. That's as natural a heel as you can get. I agree that Orton's face turn didn't make sense, as it was portrayed. But honestly, it was all just a way of taking the "youngest ever champion" badge away from Brock Lesnar, so I can see why the WWE were so desperate to do it. Lawler on commentary has been an appalling, senseless face turn.
