KENTA suffers torn ACL, out 6 - 9 months

according to a post just made on the ROH board, KENTA has suffered a torn ACL and a meniscus injury similar injury to what Marufuji had, and will be out for nine months. i haven't seen anything about it posted on Wrestling Observer or PWInsider yet (they've been asleep all night), but i checked the results for the NOAH show held last night on Green Destiny and it says the referee had to stop his match against Kotaro Suzuki because of an injury to his left knee, so this looks legit.


Edit: PWI just confirmed the injury:

Pro Wrestling NOAH's KENTA suffered a knee injury during the ongoing Junior Heavyweight tournament in Japan, so he'll be missing his scheduled bookings with ROH next week in Philadelphia for HDNet TV and the Edison, NJ house show as well as the following week in Toronto and Detroit. That's a major loss as KENTA is a top flight worker. I could see ROH putting Davey Richards into those bouts, but that's just a guess, not something I believe is planned. Injuries always come at the worst time and that's certainly the case here.

Pro Wrestling NOAH and Ring of Honor star KENTA suffered a torn ACL while wrestling Kotaro Suzuki on 10/28. The expectation is he'll be out 6-9 months right now.

That sucks. I'm not super super familiar with puro, but he's definitely one of my favourites from what I have seen. I wish KENTA a speedy recovery.

There goes *pound for pound* the best current wrestler in the world. It's a shame. And it's a guy that still had a lot of matches left in him. Not saying he's completely done career-wise, but this is something that is especially not good with a guy still in the prime of his life.

And before the trolls come out of their caves, I said "pound for pound" with that best wrestler comment and that's what I believe to be true.

Kenta is one of my favorite wrestlers to watch in the ring.
His kicks are unreal. He gives it all he's got.

Haven't see alot of KENTA, but what have seen was awesome, so I hope he fully recovers and come backs even better.

Also I just happen to go to a site were I get look at gifs and they had this one and I thought it was funny.



It said he was starting to use this as a finisher.

Jeez, that sucks. Big blow for ROH right now, and KENTA especially. I think they might have been able to use him well in the post McGuinesse/Danielson spots.

Hey Orton, THAT is how you punt someone.

I love KENTA. He is one of the guys that got me into watching puro. I really hope he can bounce back from this and keep being one of the best in the world.
