A request of my fellow 'Crappers:
I need to get a late Christmas gift for a relative of mine. He grew up watching wrestling in the early 1990s, and is a fan of Flair, Hitman and Hogan equally.
Which DVD anthology should I buy?

You should definately buy the Flair set so he can see Flair in the 80's.

I like the Hitman DVD the best, so I'd go with that.

Flair - where else can you get the 2/3 Falls match on DVD, along with the classic encounters with Harley Race and Barry Windham? Plus, the 1992 Royal Rumble match is not available on in the Rumble anthology yet.
Bret's best matches on his anthology can be found elsewhere. Bret vs. Davey Boy? Confidential. Bret vs. Austin? WM anthology - plus the audio is out of sync on Bret's anthology for that match. Bret vs. Owen? WM anthology. Bret vs. Benoit? Benoit anthology.
Yes, Bret's anthology does exclusively have Bret vs. Davey Boy II and Bret vs. Hennig (I and II), but those matches do not outweight the Flair anthology exclusives of Flair vs. Steamboat 2/3 Falls, the main event of the first Starrcade, and Flair vs. Windham.

THERE IS A WWE CONFIDENTIAL DVD?!?!?! Dude, it's one of the best WWE-produced DVD's as well. There are only four extras*, but the segments are great to watch. If I want to pop in a DVD just for background noise, this one has always been one of my favorites. * - The extras are Shawn Michaels versus Bret Hit Man Hart @ Survivor Series 1997, Bret Hart versus British Bulldog @ SummerSlam '92, Scott Steiner versus Booker T @ The Last Nitro, and Jimmy Snuka versus Ray Stevens @ MSG.

The Ric Flair DVD is good. It could use some more promos, but it has the ENTIRE '92 Rumble from opening bell to the finish, including the tremendous backstage interview afterwards with the tandem 'wooo's by Heenan, Perfect and Flair.

I'd start out with the Flair set because of the superb match selection and the cool chapter extra's that help flesh out the angles. I like the Bret Hart dvd but I like the Flair one more because rather then having one long interview the Flair interviews are broken up into different sections. So after Flair is done talking about Harley Race their's a Harley Race match.

the flair set. excellent matches (though no flair vs vader, which i've always wanted to see) and AMAZING promos. seriously, watching that dvd was definitely one of those 'born too late' moments for me. stupid 90s...

I prefer Bret's, IMO the matches (most) are simply better.

I haven't seen the Flair or Hart DVD's, but just got the Hogan one, with the extra disc, for Christmas. It's fantastic. And Hogan was not as bad of a worker as I remember. Especially considering the Crap they try to pass on us these days. I do wish there was a little more story telling, like the Pillman DVD, butthere are a TON of matches, and it's cool to watch the sequence of his career like that.

I'd go with the Bret Hart one. Not a bad match on there, IMO. I'm slogging my way through the Wrestlemania anthology, myself.
