Am I the only one that actually liked this gimmick or thought it could have went somewhere?

I liked the Demon. I didn't like the deal they cut Gene Simmons for the licencing rights. Just as an example wcw was required to have him in a certain number of "main events". So They'd end up having Tony and Mike announce that Demon's match tonight was a special "main event" in between 1800yescredit commercials and Shane Douglas promos

I really liked the kiss demon, he had a cool entrance cool look and was decent in the ring. The problem with the demon was that he really couldn't go that far as long as he was the KISS demon. I mean yeah you can do the cool entrance and give him a cool debut, but then what, what else is there for him? I mean unless you bring in members of KISS to back him up where else do you go with the gimmick?

I liked the gimmick but thought it was dumb how they had to promote his PPV matches as "main events" when they were the 2nd or 3rd match on the show.

I'm a huge fan of KISS, so I naturally loved the gimmick.
I do agree though that, being stuck with the KISS bit on your gimmick does limit you a bit if you don't actually have them around with you.
Dale Torborg (sp?) has gone on to baseball now anyway. And a spot in TNA.

No clue. And this section isn't very active, so it won't get as much of a response here.

I was always an Adams mark so i liked him at first, even his affiliation with the Dark Carnival was entertaining. Also why is this in the website section?

I remember thinking it was odd, that he only made one appearance as the Demon then like a month later was jobbing to Goldberg in plain red pants and clean shaven.

I remember reading at the time that there were supposed to have been other KISS-themed wrestlers coming. Oh, what could have been.

It's simply the concept that was lacking.... I mean, I love King Diamond but I don't want a wrestling King Diamo- Oh my god that sounds like the coolest thing ever. Someone get me the bookers!

I hated it. A 70's throwback at a time when the other promotion is cutting edge. It made absolutley no sense. Plus, at the time, Kiss were regarded as old posers by rock fans outside of the 'Kiss Army", which made up a much larger percentage of wrestling fans.
If Metallica sponsored a wrestler, or even Eminem, it would have been relevant to the times.
That said, they did some cool things with it, but it still sucked.
