Of The Gooker winners, what would be the winner of the decade?

The Invasion crushed the dreams of an entire generation. The few good matches and angles that came out of it can't compare to that. That and wrestling began to fall fast after it was over.

Katie Vick was just plain stupid. Necrophelia? Kane with human emotions? Neverimind the fact that there is a huge unification match. We'll just focus on screwing the brains out of dummies.

Arquette winning has never bothered me, at the time I thought The Invasion was just an enjoyable mess, everything involving Al Wilson was awesome, I fast-forwarded through the entire Diva Search and had stopped watching by the time Dr Heiney turned up... so I'll say Katie Vick. Triple H screwing her brains out was one of those "Why am I watching this s***!?" moments that my fandom never recovered from.

I was watching a shoot from 2005 that Paul Bearer and Jim Cornette did, and it was brought up that when the Katie Vick thing happened, that that was when professional wrestling jumped the shark.
In 2000, someone random and undeserving got the title. I know that it was a celebrity, but there have been bad champions before. The Invasion, a bad major angle, it's happened before, it'll happen again. Al Wilson. Big ratings draw, but could also be seen as so bad it was good, along with the Balls Mahoney/Kelly Kelly love angle. Diva Search was a bad idea to have random chicks on the show, the deal with JR was a bad angle again, exploiting someone's death has happened before, doing dumb angles with a midget is pretty bad, and a bad announcer, well, there have been lots of people bad at their jobs.
So, not taking away from any of the gooker winners, they are all very bad. But, the Katie Vick deal took a different step. Paul Bearer talked about how he was able to get a friend's kids tickets to see the show, it was a country music singer, I forgot his name. But, after that happened, he apoligized to that person, and he wasn't involved in the angle. But, he was so ashamed that night.
It was actually never shown on tv in Canada. I've never actually seen the full video of it. It makes a person feel ashamed to watch wrestling.
I would take the Invasion as a close second, because that's when the downfall of the wrestling business started. But, when the Katie Vick angle happened, that's when professional wrestling jumped the shark.

Katie Vick. The only time I've ever been ashamed to be a wrestling fan.

Pretty hard choice. It was going to be either Eddisplotation (bad taste), the Diva Search (creation of the "Un-Divas" which meant the end of good WWE Women's Wrestling.) or the Invasion.
I go with the Invasion because even though WWE had quite literally the goose that laid the golden eggs, they killed the goose just to make themselves look good. So much spent potential right there.

Voted for The Invasion as awful as the others were. Invasion was the fans (and wrestlers who were in the business long enough to be on one side or even both) ultim, ate dream angle. Which became all about the McMahons and Vince's ego. It could have turned in record ratings and a new generation of fans in the making instead it turned away fans in the masses. A lot of them who were left were then turned away in smaller numbers by the other gooker winners.
Vince couldn;t bring in Hogan,. Hall, Nash, Flair or Goldberg or even Scott Stiner for the Invasion but he could bring them in a very short time after the Invasion it was the ultimate burial and Vince letting his ego get in the way of great business.

invasion because not only was it a bad angle but it literally cost Vince millions by not making this a more balanced by making WCW/ECW on par with WWF
that and it literally angered the remaining WCW fans into no longer watching the then WWF

Both the Invasion and the Vick storylines were awful, invasion from a missed chances perspective and Katie Vick for the poor taste. But neither of these really made me ashamed to be a fan. But Arquette winning the title? It just made things feel so cheap. I cringed, and if I recall correctly I took a shower and wept.
