You know, Live Aid/8/Earth and that kind of thing.
First, I'll rave about my experience from earlier in the year (which honestly I should have done 8 months ago when it was actually relevant).
---
I went to the Sound Relief charity concert at the Sydney Cricket Ground in March this year, on the weekend of my 20th birthday no less. It was set up to benefit victims of the Victoria bushfires and the Queensland floods earlier in the year. A similar concert was also held in Melbourne.
Anyway, this was actually my first ever concert. And it was freakin' awesome. Although there were a couple of big international acts (Coldplay and Taylor Swift), it was all about the Australian groups, like Jet, Wolfmother (one of their first shows with the new lineup) and Eskimo Joe, among others. But my favourite had to be electronic group The Presets.
IN-MOTHER f***ING-SANE!!! In the middle of a lightning storm and buckets of rain, this was simply one of the most epic things I've ever been a part of.
---
So, what say you 'Crappers? How were your experiences rocking out for good causes?

I was at that show too. the Presets set was f***ing epic but to me just getting to see Icehouse was worth the price of admission

Whereabouts were you? I got lucky and scored seats right in front of the stage.

I wasn't that lucky....but I was close enough to not need a pair of freaking binoculars to see anything like some of my mates were

Had an uncle who went to Live Aid at old JFK stadium. So yeah he was there to see reunited Black Sabbath and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. And Tom Petty flipping someone off, Ronnie Wood airguitaring with Dylan, and Duran Duran's last concert gig for 20 something years.
And he was absolutely miserable because of the crowds and arrangements. But hey, he was there part of history.

Never been to a charity concert. Unless it's for the band themselves.
