Unfriend, huh? I think a better term would've been defriend. You know, like how people befriend someone, they should be able to defriend them as well.

I think Webster should kick Oxford's ass for that entry.

Again I'm out of it never hearing unfriend... Not getting political I thought the 2009 word was Public Option anyway

And yet Undog has yet to receive an entry.
You know, the Mario Paint character who would undo your last action.
Undog's not even a Mario Kart character, and they've basically resorted to adding different colored Toads at this point!
Undog.

Well, neither Public nor Option is a new word, nor does it describe a new concept. However, the process of formally removing someone from your friends list, that's new, unless you stop sending Christmas Cards to people.

Unfriend, huh? I think a better term would've been defriend. You know, like how people befriend someone, they should be able to defriend them as well. I agree that defriend sounds more like a verb. And I agree with irontyger that it distinctly sounds like an Orwellian alternative to "enemy." Now what about refriending?

After bling bling was added a few years back, I gave up on most dictionaries.
