GoVolsExtra.com cites a source "familiar with the selection process" as saying that Tennessee will take on Virginia Tech in the Chick-fil-A Bowl to be played on December 31. Spoiler alert. During the press conference, Kiflin will call out Urban Meyer for mowing his own lawn in counterclockwise circles. He will then demand an NCAA investigation.

After being drubbed by Oklahoma 27-0 last Saturday, Oklahoma State has apparently lost out on the chance for an at-large BCS bowl bid. Instead, it looks like they could be headed to the Cotton Bowl.
Auburn will play in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1 against a yet to be determined Big Ten squad.

Various sources are reporting that Notre Dame has contacted UConn head coach Randy Edsall about their vacant coaching position.

A writer for a Missouri website (powermizzou.com I think) was on the radio here in Iowa today, and he says he has heard from sources inside the Missouri program that the Insight Bowl plans to pass over 8-4 Missouri for 6-6 Iowa State (who was defeated by Missouri). Their reasoning for this is that the Fiesta Bowl and Insight Bowl are played at the same facility, and they'd like to see if they can piggyback Iowa and Iowa State together.
This report, if true, would seem to indicate that Iowa is going to get the nod to the Fiesta Bowl over Penn State as expected.
Take it with a grain of salt, and it all hinges on Texas defeating Nebraska, but this was a Missouri writer reporting this.
If anything maybe Brick can go see his alma mater.

Maybe Notre Dame needs to realize that no matter who they bring in, they will suck after so long because of their high standards of education. Name me one program that lasted longer than two years near the top with Notre Dame's high standards of education. So a school shouldn't put education first?

ND had/has the players to be a top team. It's Charlie "I refuse to continue calling plays that work" Weis who needed to go.

Too High Expectations at ND by fans for any coach to survive up there Too high? Doesn't EVERY fan of a college football team expect or hope their team wins a national title? My father is a big ND fan, and all he wants from them is wins. When they lose a game, he doesn't want the coach fired or anything. When they lose the way they have for a whole season (and end up with a record similar to Willingham and Davie), even I want the damn coach fired, regardless of who it is.

Some fans think it's there birthright to a National Championship. Even as a Duke Fan I say it's not my birthright to a title

I truly believe any super-hardcore fan of a team will act like their team deserves a title. So let's not make it seem like it's only Notre Dame who has fans like that. I'm a big Texas Tech fan, but I don't go around acting like they deserve a title every year. In fact, it pisses me off when the announcers were saying things like "Texas Tech has a better TEAM this year than they did last year", like last year was only the Harrell/Crabtree show (hell, watch the series that ends with the Crabtree catch to beat Texas, and you'll see the other WR's making critical catches to get first downs, and the O-line blocking when they needed to).
The reason why Notre Dame is on ESPN for every little thing they do is the same reason why USC is on all the time, or the Dallas Cowboys, or the Los Angeles Lakers or Lebron. (At least this time it's football related, and not because of Weis being rumored to be dating Jessica Simpson.)

That is true. Every team thinks they should be National Champions at the start of the year.

Did I say that's only Notre Dame no I didn't. There are alot of teams that have fans like that. And Notre Dame may need to change their high standards of education. ND is not a easy school to get into

Alright, ladies and gentlemen, I've only got one thing to say: CIVIL WAR: Whose side are you on? Anyone else think it's funny how the Red River Shootout and World's Largest Cocktail Party got their names changed due to political correctness, but nobody says a thing about the name of this rivalry.
